  “I recently visited Soho Cottage and had a really lovely experience. I wanted to take a moment to leave a review because the service we received was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. It’s always nice to visit somewhere where the staff make you feel welcomed, comfortable, and valued. A special mention has to go to Isaiah, the young lad who was working there. He was incredibly polite, respectful, and attentive throughout our visit. His manners were outstanding, and he made sure we were well looked after. It was genuinely refreshing to see someone so young showing such a high level of professionalism and care towards customers. Isaiah went above and beyond to make sure we were all catered for. He was attentive to our needs, approachable, and always had a pleasant attitude. Nothing felt like too much trouble for him, and his kindness really stood out. He is a credit to Soho Cottage, and his excellent customer service deserves to be recognised. I would also like to praise the bar staff, who were equally polite, friendly, and respectful. They served us with a smile and helped create a lovely atmosphere throughout our visit. Everyone we interacted with made us feel welcome, which really added to the overall experience. The staff member who took our order was also lovely and professional. They were patient, polite, and made sure everything was taken care of properly. It was clear that the whole team understood the importance of good customer service and making sure guests have an enjoyable time. What stood out the most was that **every member of staff we encountered was friendly, respectful, and attentive**. From Isaiah to the bar staff and the person who took our order, the service was consistent throughout. It’s not always easy to find a place where the whole team makes such a positive impression, but Soho Cottage certainly did. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and the excellent service made our visit even more enjoyable. A massive thank you to Isaiah and the entire team at Soho Cottage for looking after us so well. Please keep up the fantastic work, as staff members like these make all the difference and give customers a reason to return. We will definitely remember the lovely service we received!   “Love this place! Every time I come here the food is delicious! Even when I order takeaway from here the quality is just as high. The staff are all very friendly especially Isaiah who gave us top level service. The prices are very reasonable. Definitely my favourite desi pub! Highly recommend”

  “I went for dinner last week, the customer service was excellent! I ordered a mixed soho grill as well as chilli chips and cheesy chips alongside other stuff. One staff member that stood out to me was Vanisha. She was nice and had a positive attitude towards her work and customers. Thanks to her I will be attending again.”

  “⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10! Honestly, one of the best mixed grills I’ve ever had! The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavour, and cooked perfectly. A special shout-out to Amo for the amazing customer service — very friendly, welcoming and made the whole experience even better. It’s always nice to receive such great service alongside great food.   “Parking available. Food was great. We ordered the boneless mixey, chilli chicken, chilli cheese chips, keema balti, peshawar naan and the Soho Naan after the staffs recommendation (thank you staff) enjoyed everything ❤️”

  “Solid food, been too the other Soho's and I would say I prefer the atmosphere in those. Overall good experience, waiter recommended soho naan which was really good. Would come again when in area.”

  “"Very disappointing experience at Soho Cottage. The food served to us did not appear fresh and was far below the standard I expected. The lamb chops were dry, tough, and lacked both flavor and tenderness. If the lamb chops had actually been fresh and enjoyable, why would customers leave most of them untouched on the plate? The photos speak for themselves. What made the experience even worse was that I had guests with me, and it was embarrassing to have recommended this place. Instead of enjoying our meal, we were left disappointed and questioning the quality of the food being served. The service was equally disappointing, with little concern shown for customer satisfaction. A restaurant's reputation is built on fresh food, consistency, and good service. Unfortunately, my experience reflected none of these qualities. Customers spend their hard-earned money expecting quality meals, not food that raises concerns about freshness. I would strongly advise others to think twice before dining here until the management seriously improves its food quality standards and customer service." Thank you for your response. As a customer, when someone works hard all day and chooses to visit an Indian restaurant that they have proudly recommended to friends, they expect a meal that reflects the reputation of the restaurant. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. What disappointed me even more was that when I told your chef that the food was not good, he immediately insisted that everything was fresh and was not willing to accept that there could have been an issue. As a customer, that felt very disrespectful and embarrassing, especially in front of my friends because I had highly recommended your restaurant and praised it beforehand. The food we received simply did not match the standards I had spoken so highly about. Over the past few years, the taste and quality of the food have noticeably declined. It feels as though the focus is now more on expanding and opening new franchises than on maintaining the quality and consistency of the food. Management should speak honestly with the staff and chefs about these recurring complaints instead of dismissing them. Many customers are saying similar things, and there is usually a reason for that. In my experience, the food tasted stale, some dishes seemed overcooked, and when I requested mild food, it was served much spicier than expected. These are not isolated issues; they affect the overall dining experience. I would also like to make it clear that I am not looking for free food, discounts, compensation, or special treatment. I simply expect value for the money I pay every time I visit. Customers pay for quality, consistency, and service, and that is all I am asking for. What saddens me most is that I genuinely believed Soho Cottage was one of the best restaurants in Oldbury. Sadly, my recent visits have changed that opinion. I had hoped it would maintain the standards and reputation that made it so popular, but unfortunately that was not reflected in my experience. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve the quality of the food and service, because many loyal customers would like to see the restaurant return to the standards it was once known for.”

  “Despite nearly all my friends being Soho veterans, I have NEVER been to any of their restaurants. This was my first time and I found it incredible! From the moment we stepped in, the service was brilliant. Very friendly, polite, enthusiastic staff - welcomed us in, made suggestions specific to our dietary needs - this place is a must for any vegans/vegetarians... Food was on point, just so much variety, each dish unique in it's flavours... spice level just right, hot as it comes, just delicious. The only thing I didn't enjoy so much was the achari curry, wasn't to my taste at all. But if you like achar and pickley flavours, this might be just your thing. Price wasn't bad, its not cheap but I reckon you get what you pay for, top quality food that tastes amazing. Definitely coming back here. I'm no longer a Soho virgin... I'm so stuffed, I've never eaten so much in my life!”

  “I had heard great things about this place. Unfortunately I didn’t experience a good time. The restaurant has more delivery drivers than customers. My grill came out after an hour without any sides. I had to get up twice to remind them. So overall I received each dish separately. My noodles were a waste of money. They looked like tined spaghetti in sauce. I’ve been to Soho oak multiple times and never experienced this. Server/waiters were just doing their jobs I can’t fault them. However the kitchen management may need a revision. I’m not even angry, just disappointed I was really looking forward to this.”

  “I just ordered from Deliveroo I paid £26 for 2 curries and 2 rotis and a naan and I pulled a GIANT hair out of the food. Literally so disgusting and completely unhygienic and unacceptable that I ended up throwing all the food away. Asked Deliveroo and they refused to give a refund saying to take it up with the restaurant. So stupid. Nobody ever eat or order from this restaurant cause the hygiene standards are atrocious.”
