“Went on a Sunday and it was a limited menu, there was one option for me (vegetarian) but they had ran out of vegetarian pies. Asked me if I just wanted the trimmings on their own or a vegetarian burger, I asked what the burger was and the waitress didn’t know. She went and asked someone for me. I decided to try it. It didn’t go well with the meal because it was quite spicy. 2 small bits of roast potato, but I was glad in the end as they were one of the worst potatoes I’ve ever had. Yorkshire pudding tasted like it wasn’t cooked enough. Broccoli had brown bits on it, I asked for it to be changed. Waitresses stayed out of the way chatting to themselves, didn’t ask if our meal was ok, didn’t say bye when we left. Overpriced at £14.95. Won’t be returning.”

“We called in here this evening and enjoyed a really lovely homemade meal. The whole place is lovely and the staff are all very pleasant and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and well presented. We sat outside in a lovely area for a drink afterwards. We will definitely be back sooner rather than later. Highly recommended. Not many of these great eating pubs with food to such high standards left.”

“What an amazing find. This place is wonderful. The people, the food and ambience were perfect. This place was midway between us and friends. Rachel was brilliant, she was polite, professional and catered to our requirements without any fuss or issues. The Anchor Inn is dog friendly and does amazing food at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.”
