About Perkins Bar & Bistro
Perkins Bar & Bistro is a bistro in Nottingham, set in a restored Victorian railway station on Station Rd that still keeps its train station look inside. An occasional train passes by outside. The bar mixes cocktails, including a pineapple & coconut mojito, and the dessert list includes sticky toffee pudding, with one version made with rum and raisin. Freshly baked bread and water come to the table once guests are seated. Reservations are required, and booking is essential for the themed evenings. The station building also hosts wedding receptions and luncheons for larger gatherings. Guests can book a dinner, bed and breakfast stay in a shepherd hut.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to Perkins for special occasions, with weddings, anniversaries and birthdays recurring, and the terrace seating draws repeated praise as lovely in the sun. Two reviewers describe wedding meals, one a reception dinner tailored to the couple's menu choices and another a luncheon for 24 where everything arrived hot at the same time. Among dishes, diners name the sticky toffee pudding, including a rum and raisin version, along with the chicken Kiev, duck, chicken supreme, slow braised blade of beef and roast fillet of cod. Cocktails such as a pineapple and coconut mojito also get a mention. Several describe the staff as friendly and welcoming, and a few say the team made an extra effort for a birthday, once with a special dessert brought out. The converted railway station earns comment for its setting, with one noting the occasional passing train and another that the interior keeps its station character. One reviewer says they were full after two courses. No complaints appear in the reviews, and one family notes the team catered well to their 10 month old.

“We booked dinner, bed (shepherd hut) and breakfast to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. Nicky was our brilliant host and we were really well looked after all throughout our stay. The evening meal was delicious and our accommodation well appointed and ideal for our one night stay. Well done to all at Team Perkins for making it a real treat befitting our celebration.”

“Whenever me and my family go for dinner at Perkins we always get the best service and food! We went for a meal last night for my Mum’s birthday and sat outside in the terrace area, which was lovely and warm with the heaters. The food was amazing as always, and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. Trish, Jane, Hannah and Jasmine you’re all amazing, thank you for a lovely evening! They also bought out a special happy birthday dessert for my Mum as well, thank you!”

“We chose to have our wedding reception dinner at Perkins and we are so glad we were able to do so! We enquired because it is one our favourite restaurants in Nottingham, we love the atmosphere, decor, food and service. Every time we visit, we feel we get a complete evening out whereas most other restaurants want to serve you as quick as possible to fill the table again. The service is always great and the food is fantastic. For the wedding dinner, I liaised with Trish about everything and she was so well organised. We could tailor the menu to our preference and we had confidence that all dishes would be good quality since we’re never disappointed when visiting Perkins. I sent a table plan with the guests’ food choices and it was all seamlessly fulfilled on the day. We had 3 individual wedding cakes, which I asked to be cut up and laid out for guests to take in boxes, this was done really well and efficiently. I dropped all items to the restaurant the day before the wedding and didn’t have to worry about a thing after that! Table numbers & plan, name places, favours to be placed for each guest, 3 cakes & cake stands with topper, cake boxes, card box, guest book, decorative photo frames - Trish sorted it all out, kept on top of all the timings and made the evening so easy for us. We wanted a chilled atmosphere where we could talk to the guests and they could enjoy their time together, and that’s exactly what we experienced. Guests were really impressed with the setting and food at Perkins, and we look forward to coming back many times in future, now with very fond memories!”

“We came here for our first year anniversary and we were not disappointed! We booked seats in the terrace, it was so lovely to be sat outside taking in the sun, the cocktails were absolutely delicious and the food too!! The service was fabulous, the amenities were clean and they catered to our 10 month old perfectly. Couldn't fault our visit. Highly recommend.”

“My husband booked Perkins as a birthday treat. We have never been before. The venue as a whole is understated and classy. We sat in the terrace which was lovely. The food was superb and the best meal I have had for a long time. The chicken Kiev was outstanding and my husband loved his prawn cocktail. The staff were lovely and we will definitely return.”
