About Iberico World Tapas
Iberico World Tapas is a tapas restaurant in Nottingham's Lace Market, based at The Shire Hall. It is Nottingham's original tapas restaurant, and it has held a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand award since 2010. The kitchen cooks small plates with international influences, so the menu draws on more than one culinary tradition. The long-running recognition gives diners a clear sense of the standard the team has kept up for over a decade.

Customer Review Summary
Savoy cabbage with sesame and chilli crisp is the dish reviewers single out most, one calling it totally unexpected and delicious. Close behind are the mushroom bulgogi, the spring greens, the lamb shoulder, gambas a la plancha and tuna tataki, with mackerel with hash brown and braised rabbit empanadas also praised. Panna cotta gets repeated mentions for dessert, and the express menu is described as good value. Several find the staff friendly and the wine choice good, and a few describe the setting as cosy and low lit. Service draws the sharpest complaints. One party arrived to a table set for three instead of four, received dishes they had not ordered, and was served only one allioli with the patatas bravas. Another had to keep going to the bar to request things. Two reviewers found little atmosphere, and one called the food bland, expensive and small in portion. One reviewer says the second allioli dip, promised as homemade, never arrived.

“This place was ok but nothing special. If I had seen the menu before I had gone, it would have been somewhere else. No atmosphere, staff were very false. Food was mega expensive, bland and portions small.”

“Would I go back? No, probably not which is a little disappointing based on other reviews. I'll be honest, it all started with first impressions and this let us down. We've had this table booked for months, on arrived we were taken to a table set up for 3 people, so we had to stand around and wait for them to find another chair and reset the table for 4 people. It's a simple element of the service which wasn't provided. Service: the service throughout was a little hit and miss. Items we didn't order arrived at our table which we sent back and then when we ordered the Patats Bravas, only 1 allioli dip arrived. A waiter came and said the other dip was homemade so was on its way...that never arrived. Atmosphere: I've given 3 stars as there wasn't any. Our table was at the back on the upper level, the view we had was the service g counter (plates, knives and forks) and the entrance to the restaurant. Food: We opted for 2 starter plates and 2 main dishes each which was plenty of food! The stand out dish me was the Savoy Cabbage which was totally unexpected and delicious!”

“Absolutely incredible! The BEST tapas restaurant in Nottingham hands down. From the second we stepped through the door, the staff were really attentive, explained the menu thoroughly and never left us waiting around for anything. I’ve genuinely never had tapas this good before. We over ordered (as you do when ordering tapas) but of course still had to have dessert. I would go back here in an instant! The atmosphere is perfect for date night. It’s very calming and relaxing. If you’re going, you must order the lamb shoulder 👌🏻”

“Iberico World Tapas remains a hidden gem in Nottingham’s dining scene. Their Express Menu (£20) is Michelin Bib Gourmand quality at a total bargain. Savoy Cabbage with sesame and chilli crisp. Absolute must-order. Large, meaty Gambas a la Plancha and fresh Tuna Tataki. Rich Coffee Panna Cotta and classic Churros (£5.50 on offer). Faultless service. While walk-ins are welcome, we'd strongly advise booking ahead. Express Hours: Tue–Thur (5pm–6:15pm) | Sat (12pm–3pm).”
