Customer Review Summary

Duck draws the most praise. One group at a Christmas dinner agreed the duck dish was fantastic, and another recommends the duck salad starter and duck a l'orange. Close behind are the pork belly, lobster frites, and gambas and croquettes, with calamari a favourite at a pre theatre dinner. The Sunday roast set menu, salmon ratatouille with truffle fries, chocolate mousse and a nicely made cappuccino also get mentions. Diners describe the room as cozy and the menu as good value. The criticism centres on a few dishes and on service. One reviewer found the lamb stingy, mostly onions and gravy with boiled carrots, and another found the celeriac wellington, the only vegetarian option on a Christmas menu, undercooked in the pastry, alongside a bland mushroom and pesto starter. Others noted chewy chicken and poorly prepared crackling, and one felt nobody checked back at the table or said goodbye. Several still praise friendly staff, and one thanks the manager for sorting out a bill quickly.

“I’d heard good things about Bistrot Pierre and my visit did not disappoint in the slightest. We started with the gambas & croquettes, followed by the lobster frites & pork belly, and we were blown away. The starters were excellent & we would have been impressed if the meal ended there, but the lobster impressed as well, only to be outdone by the pork belly. I will say that the crackling they offered alongside it was not prepared well, but everything else was so good that I can excuse that. If there’s one thing I can almost guarantee, it’s that a visit to Bistrot Pierre would not be a wasted one!”

A special mention to Jasmine from the staff—she was extremely polite, friendly, and helpful throughout my visit. She made me feel very comfortable and welcomed. Really appreciate the excellent service, especially from Jasmine. Would definitely love to visit again! 🍕❤️”
