About Myeong Dong Korean BBQ Restaurant
On Market St in Nottingham, Myeong Dong Korean BBQ Restaurant serves Korean barbecue at 5 Market St, with beef and pork belly on the menu. Customer Review Summary
Food that arrives quickly and hot anchors the praise, with Korean comfort dishes close behind. Diners name the seafood tofu stew served bubbling hot, chewy tteokbokki, pork jjajangmyeon, seafood jjampong, army stew and crispy fried chicken, while another singles out the pork bibimbap on the hotstone. Kimchi and ramen earn specific praise too, and a few say the sauces are made in house and the portions are generous. Regulars describe returning many times, and the atmosphere is called cozy and calm. The only friction comes from one reviewer answering other critics: a small service fee applies, and some traditional dishes such as nurungji or certain stews are salty or spicy, which that reviewer treats as authentic rather than a fault. First-timers say staff offered forks, helped cook the beef and pork belly at the table and showed them how to eat each dish, and one family reports being so full on every visit that they needed takeaway boxes.

“I've been coming here for so long that I've lost count of how many times I've visited, and the food has never disappointed. My favourites are the pork jjajangmyeon, seafood jjampong, and the army stew. The fried chicken is also a must-try ! perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The service is always fast, and the food comes out quickly, so it's a great spot for a quick meal if you're not having Korean BBQ. Definitely recommend!”

“We have never done Korean BBQ before and it was incredible. We were hesitant to go in as we have never tried this food before and aren't good with chopsticks. They said they had forks and welcomed us in at the door. I had seen this place online and had great reviews. We picked a couple of things we wanted and the gentleman advised us of an accompanying dish. We selected the Beef, pork belly, chicken dumplings, the lettuce and side combo and a side of rice with 2 drinks. They helped us cook the food and showed us how to eat the dish we had selected. Honestly I would go back tomorrow. The service was great and they were so friendly and understanding. A+ Definitely a must visit if you are in Nottingham and want to try something amazing.”

“Authentic Korean comfort food in Nottingham. My favourite was seafood tofu stew. It was served bubbling hot with a rich, spicy broth that went perfect with rice. Tteokbokki had the ideal chewy texture, and the sauce was seasoned just right. This is one of the rare places in Nottingham serving proper Korean food. Definitely worth a try!”
