About Dandelion Deli & Coffee House

Dogs can settle beside their owners indoors at Dandelion Deli & Coffee House, a coffee shop on Main St in Nottingham. The kitchen cooks homemade food fresh to order, starting with breakfast until a set time and moving on to lunch, where soups, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and paninis served with a small dressed salad and coleslaw take over from eggs Benedict and the morning plates. Cakes sit under covers by the counter, and coffees, teas and hot chocolates come alongside, with coffee available to take away for anyone drinking off site. A step-free entrance keeps the room reachable for visitors with mobility needs, high chairs suit families with young children, and outdoor seats are there for eating in the open air. No booking is needed, since customers order at the counter and take a table as they find one. The deli trades Monday to Saturday during the daytime and closes on Sundays, with public car parks up and down the road.

Customer Review Summary

Friendly, obliging staff are the draw most reviewers return to, several noting the kitchen builds paninis to order, with bacon, brie and cranberry and ham, halloumi with red onion marmalade served alongside dressed salad and coleslaw. Close behind is the lunch food, soups and fresh sandwiches, a jacket potato with tuna mayo and cheese, and chilli con carne with rice and chips, cooked fresh to order at prices several call reasonable. Breakfast earns mentions too, with pancakes, toast and eggs Benedict, and the flat whites and decaf tea described as proper and good. Not everyone left satisfied. One visitor found the menu very limited, an advertised pumpkin spice latte and autumnal loaf unavailable, the food basic for the price, and the Saturday atmosphere flat and more dog friendly than kid friendly. Another rated the millionaires shortbread over sweet and under baked and waited over half an hour for soup, suggesting others plan for a wait at busy times. Smaller moments recur as well, a toddler's food brought out first, and a dog welcomed to sit alongside its owner.

“Staff are always lovely and friendly and such a decently priced cafe. Prices seems to be out of control everywhere else, but not here!”

“Lovely little coffee shop with delightful staff. The food is freshly cooked, and decaf tea very good. There was a nice selection of cakes, kept under covers. The millionaires shortbread looked lovely, however we could only give it a 5 out of 10 😬. It was over sweet and the shortbread under baked. The soups were absolutely lovely, and the sandwiches lovely and fresh. We did wait for over half an hour, just for a couple of soups felt a long time. However I understand they had been very busy all morning and were still trying to catch up with service. When the food came, it was woth it. The coffee shop is nice and clean, with clean facilities just out the back. Public cars parks are up or down the road. Cost either free or £1 for bottom car park. So, overall the staff are lovely and they provide good quality, fresh food. If you go at a popular time, plan for a wait.”

“Stopped by on the way from Sawley to IKEA. A lovely place, lovely food (we had breakfast of pancakes, toast and eggs benedict) and a lovely, friendly atmosphere. Very friendly towards our toddler and unlike many places thought ahead and brought him his food first which is a real plus. Some regulars were in at the same time as us and this was a real plus to see how welcoming the place is.”
