Customer Review Summary

Sunday roast draws the warmest praise, with a beef rump roast cooked pink as requested, gravy one diner calls the best in a long while, and generous portions of meaty and veggie options. Close behind are the salt and pepper squid, the pork belly and baked camembert. Staff are described as friendly and helpful, from bar staff and a manager looking after a birthday group to servers coping with a full house during a Test match. Consistency draws the complaints. A team Christmas dinner brought half cooked, reheated calamari sent back twice, salty pork belly, cold turkey and runny trifle. A Mother's Day party describes cold food, congealed eggs and beans, and burnt sausages, with an abrupt supervisor citing an 11 o'clock breakfast cutoff that conflicted with the website. One drinker found the beer poor, with lines full of air. The supervisor offered to take the cold plates away.

“We ate at the Larwood for lunch and tea for all four days of the Test Match held at Trent Bridge. I had 16 guests each day. The staff were amazing - especially Lola and Edie who looked after us every day and went out of their way to make sure everyone had a great experience. The food was also brilliant and came quickly despite a full house every day.”

“Fabulous roast. Meaty and veggie options are both incredible. Generous portions. Service from Edie and Lola was great. Will be back.”

“We were there to celebrate a birthday and we all had a fabulous time. The bar staff and manager could not do enough for us. Baked camembert and squid starters were great and the 5 different mains we ordered were all delicious. We are still talking about it today and we will be going qgain”

“My son booked a table at 11:15am as an early Mother’s Day breakfast. There were 8 of us and we ordered 7 full English breakfasts plus drinks and a child’s meal. When the food came it was cold, the eggs and beans were congealed and the mushroom was hard and like cardboard. The sausages and tomatoes were burnt and the bread was only toasted on one side. Usually, I let things go but in this instance the food was so poor I had to say something so I mentioned it was cold. The girl serving us was fine but when the supervisor came across she was abrupt and borderline rude, implying it was our fault because they stopped serving breakfast at 11 and the food was pre cooked. She offered to take it away. But as we’d made the effort to meet up and were hungry we carried on. I ate some of the food but couldn’t eat the rest. It was the worst breakfast I’ve ever been served in a restaurant/pub. I understand if it was pre cooked but if that is the policy there should be a means of keeping the food warm. Also, we had pre-booked the table it was not a walk in so they should have been expecting us. The bill came to around £126. I mentioned to the girl serving that if they stopped serving breakfast at 11 then they should change their website as it says on the breakfast menu that they serve until 11:30am on weekends. The attitude of the supervisor was disgraceful and I would not recommend anyone to eat there.”

“We went to Larwood & Voce with family and had a good experience. The staff were super friendly and helpful and provided great service! There's a good range of food, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks on offer here. It is tucked away in the corner of Trent Bridge cricket ground, and is a firm favourite amongst West Bridgford folk.”
