About Spice Valley
Spice Valley is a restaurant in Norwich, on Magdalen St, with Hyderabadi Biriany as its specialty and menus that light up at the table. The kitchen also prepares seafood and vegetarian dishes, with lamb sashlick and chicken vindaloo among the curries. Meals begin with poppadoms and drinks, and all food is halal. Reservations are required, and a wait for food is common on busy nights. Naan breads come alongside the curries.

Customer Review Summary
The recurring complaint is slow food. One reviewer waited roughly an hour for their order and calls it a common occurrence, while another waited over 90 minutes, never received the meal, and was charged for drinks and poppadoms without an apology from the manager. That reviewer also saw meals arrive at the wrong tables. Others, by contrast, describe fast service, and one suggests it suits a late meal after a night out rather than an early evening. Several diners got a table on a Saturday night without booking, and a Christmas day meal ended with a lovely evening.

“Had a great meal here with a large group of friends. Food was great, service brilliant, prices fair. The restaurant felt a little dilapidated, but easy to see forgot as soon as you taste the food!”

“Served drinks and poppadoms straight away but waited over 90 minutes for our meal. Never came. The manager charged us £20 rather than offer an apology. Other patrons also waited too long. Meals arrived at the incorrect tables. Maybe the food is nice but it's pot luck if you get to see it. Shame. Wasted a Saturday night.”

“Great night out. Really delicious food, fast and friendly service. The spicy paneer starter was amazing!”

“I went there Saturday night around 20:00. We managed to get a table without a booking. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean and tidy. Most importantly the food was excellent. Yes it's City prices but in my view worth it. I had a Lamb sashlick with extra chili and my friend and Chicken Vindalo. Both were well cooked and nicely spiced. The Vindalo had a lovely peppery heat to it. I will definitely be returning next time I am in the City.”
