About The Ravenous Cafe
Set inside the Raveningham Centre, The Ravenous Cafe is a daytime cafe in Norwich where vintage and midcentury glass, china, rugs, art and ceramics are displayed for sale around the tables, so browsing and eating happen in the same room. The kitchen turns out cooked breakfasts and sandwiches on thick-cut fresh bread, with granary and wholemeal slices and a vegan sausage sandwich among the options. Cakes such as the Bakewell slice sit alongside sausage rolls, and drinks run from coffee to loose leaf tea served in a teapot. It opens Wednesday to Sunday during the day and closes Mondays and Tuesdays, and booking ahead is recommended. A step-free entrance helps visitors with mobility needs, high chairs suit families with young children, and outdoor seating gives the option of eating in the open air. Dogs are welcome. Other small independent shops share the centre, including a vintage clothes shop.

Customer Review Summary
Sausage and bacon sandwiches draw the most attention, described as beautifully cooked, plentiful and made with thick cut fresh bread or soft granary, with one visitor singling out a vegan sausage sandwich and another a ham sandwich that wasn't the processed kind. Close behind come the cakes, with a Paradise cake and a Bakewell slice both called fab, alongside a decent flat white and loose leaf tea in a teapot that, as one reviewer noted, didn't dribble. Several also mention cooked breakfasts, a perfectly cooked fried egg and sausage rolls. The setting draws nearly as much comment as the food: worn sofas, rustic decor and vintage glass, china, rugs and ceramics for sale, all of it described as quirky and eclectic. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and quick, dogs are welcomed, and a couple note the spot is out of the way but worth tracking down. One cycling group says a table is always reserved for them.

“Found this on Google after planned lunch venue was full. Will go again. A bit out of the way but worth it. Comfortable, clean and importantly that day, warm. We had a sausage sandwich and a bacon sandwich, two slices of cake and two coffees. All were very good. I had the bacon which was good quality and tasty. Very good value for money. Cost much less than than the big chains. They also sell lots of vintage/midcentury glass and china. On site is a vintage clothes shop. There was another shop which looked like a toy shop but sadly this was closed when we visited on a Sunday.”

“My sister and I found ourselves visiting this lovely cafe while visiting the rather eclectic Raveningham Centre. A rather impulse decision to get something to eat was rewarded with tasty bacon and sausage sandwiches. The food was beautifully cooked, fresh and plentiful and the coffee very pleasant. There are a variety of interesting vintage items for sale inside the cafe, which adds to a very nice atmosphere. The staff were super helpful, friendly and efficient. There is also plenty of outdoor seating for those sunnier days. The cafe is a fabulous asset to the Raveningham Centre adding to the small and eclectic selection of businesses. We will definitely be visiting again.”

“A super café amongst some nice little indie retail outlets in the middle of the countryside. A very decent flat white and vegan sausage sandwich (on great soft granary bread). Friendly, smiley staff - makes the difference between getting a good breakfast and having a memorable experience (with a good breakfast).”
