Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the wide food selection, including gluten-free choices, enjoyed in a beautiful garden with a dog, alongside friendly staff. Others report slow service, with no server coming over though the cafe was not busy. A walnut cake seemed stale, a lemon meringue tart flavourless, and smashed burgers arrived with buns that crumbled like a biscuit.

“I have come out for lunch with my Mother and Partner. Upon arriving to your estsblishment, I was greeted by a lovely barista, who welcomed us in and encouraged us to choose a seat. Upon realising your establishment had a garden, I asked a tall, red headed waitress if this would please be possible. The manner in which I was dealt with was unprofessional, rude and frankly disgraceful. To which the first barista, spoke over her, attempting to diffuse the situation, and confirmed I would be able to move tables. Upon relocating my family to the garden, we encountered this same red headed waitress, carrying a number of items, so my partner stopped to allow her right of way. The response she was given disgusted me, and I found very vulgar, "what are you waiting for?", accomponied by a very unwelcoming look and what I would describe as hostility. I have come out with my family to celebrate my birthday, and take a break from my busy, emotionally exhausting work. To be met with hostility and borderline passive aggression, I find extremely dissappointing. My mother has been one of your customers for years, and I am hesitant to encourage her to return. I eagerly await your reply. The food was to a high standard, and the garden beautiful, shame to be let down by one rude staff member.”

“Wish we had saved our money. Went in admittedly 4.30 pm. Had a slice of walnut cake which seemed stale and was £6.50, flat white tiny and £4.50. I had decaf tea which was fine £3.95 and a lemon meringue tart £4.90 and flavourless. £20 was a huge amount of money for us. Not worth it and never again.”

“We had smashed burgers the buns were rock hard and crumbled like a biscuit when you tried to bite into it or cut in half the bacon was cremated the burger was burnt totally dry and fries were cold waited nearly 45 mins for a meal that was over priced then they had the cheek to ask what tip would we like to give not the waitresses fault they don't do the cooking but they have to see the disappointment on customers faces better off going to a weatherspoons for half the price Ross family York.”
