About Uno's Trattoria
Uno's Trattoria is a family-run Italian restaurant in Newcastle Upon Tyne, at 18 Sandhill on the Quayside, in a semi-basement at the foot of the Tyne Bridge. The whole restaurant sits underground, and chalkboard menus hang on exposed brick walls. The Dirty Parmo tops breaded chicken with pulled pork, cheese and peppercorn sauce, which gives the kitchen a local northern dish alongside its Italian cooking. Uno's Deluxe Parma takes a different route, filling flattened breadcrumbed chicken with salmon and king prawns. Pizza and pasta share the menu with specials and starters such as pâté and a black pudding stack. The calzone can arrive with a gravy boat of bolognaise sauce, and homemade tiramisu is on the dessert side. The restaurant is open daily.

“Been a regular whenever I’m back in the Toon for twenty years and it’s still a little gem on the Quayside. Highly recommended it’s consistent in quality. They have really delicious varieties of parmo’s which we enjoyed. I had the Uno’s Deluxe Parma, flattened breadcrumbed chicken filled with fresh salmon and king prawns. A very tasty combination in a rich sauce. My friends both had the Uni Dirty Parmo, flattened breadcrumbed chicken breast topped with mozzarella, pulled pork, crispy black pudding & crispy onions in a peppercorn sauce We also enjoyed two great bottles of Italian wine at very competitive pricing both bottles well under £30.”

“Always my favourite place for date nights. Been coming here for about 7-8 years now and there’s still nowhere that beats it. Food is absolutely amazing, blows me away every time. Staff are always friendly and helpful, never rude. Couldn’t recommend any more.”
