About Pinocchio Ristorante
Pinocchio Ristorante is an Italian restaurant at 61 Westgate Rd in Newcastle Upon Tyne, near Newcastle's train station. Its pizzas are thin crust and stone baked, and they share the menu with Linguine Gamberi e Rucola, a pasta dish of king prawns in tomato and chilli sauce. A calzone sits among the pizza choices for diners who want something other than a standard round. Bruschetta is available as a starter, and Italian coffee such as cappuccino is served alongside the dessert course. The kitchen is open Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the pasta, with the spaghetti carbonara and the linguine marinara singled out, along with a linguine with king prawns in a tomato and chilli sauce that staff recommended. Close behind are the stone-baked thin crust pizzas, including a calzone one reviewer calls unreal, and the tiramisu. Diners also mention a bruschetta with bread they believe is homemade and a chicken dish with crispy skin and a peppercorn sauce. Service draws steady praise as friendly and attentive, and several describe a warm, classic Italian atmosphere with generous portions and reasonable prices. The main criticism comes from one reviewer who found the food only ok, saying the chips tasted as if they had been left to unfreeze, the side salad held three tiny pieces, and the restroom needed attention to detail. That same reviewer still called the soup lovely and the room beautiful. One group describes staff singing happy birthday and bringing tiramisu with a candle without being asked.

“What a lovely place!! The food was delicious but what made the experience for us so special were the staff! They were so sweet and engaging. They even arranged to sing happy birthday to my friend (without us asking!!) and brought her some tiramisu with a candle!! We will definitely be visiting again when we're back in Newcastle! Thank you.”

“We visited for the first time today and fell in love with the place. We were greeted by Luisa, she was welcoming, attentive and caring towards us. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the food is INCREDIBLE, if you want genuine authentic Italian food, this is the place to be. You can tell that Luisa and her team cook the food and run the restaurant with passion. The welcoming vibes make you feel like family. If you are into pizza, try the Calzone - unreal!! If you are into pasta dishes, try the spaghetti carbonara. Authentically Italian, just the way it should be! The prices are great, whilst you’re there - get the tiramisu!! You’ll definitely want more. We loved it and have now made it our date day spot. Grazie mille!”

“LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Visited for the first time last week. Absolutely stunning! The food was incredible, I had the linguine marinara which was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. My compliments to the chef, Craig, who is extremely talented. The service was 10/10 the staff were excellent, very friendly and polite, especially our server Paolo, who made the evening really special and made sure we were well taken care of.
