Quick info
About The Bhurtpore Inn
The Bhurtpore Inn is a village pub in Nantwich with 18th-century origins and wooden ceiling beams. The bar pours a wide choice of real ales, alongside craft beer and German and Belgian beers. The kitchen cooks food from scratch, and the menu includes curries and shoulder of lamb. After a refurbishment, the interior has an open-plan layout with several small quiet corners. A private dining room gives groups a space of their own. Dogs are welcome, so walkers can bring them along.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the beer, a wide choice of real ales that also takes in craft beers and German and Belgian styles, with non-alcoholic options noted too. Close behind is the food, with the curries, shoulder of lamb, roast pork and steak pie named as highlights, and several describe meals as freshly cooked. Several also praise the refurbishment, including the open plan layout with little quiet corners and the temporary teepee used during the works. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, and one reviewer calls the pub dog friendly. The food draws the sharpest criticism. One diner describes a chicken burger that arrived burnt, with a dry wing, and says the kitchen's only response was that it would do better next time. Another found three meals average and was offered a plastic bottle of mayonnaise when asked about condiments. One reviewer notes servers chatting rather than watching their tables, and the burnt burger diner said the beer was still good but they would not return.

“Outstanding visit to the (new to me) cafe today with a group of cyclists. Sat very comfortably in the teepee. Excellent service and a full range of food options were expertly served. Love the pub with its wide variety of real beer, but we were too early to be drinking. I'll be back!”

“Just marvelous! Excellent range of menu choice, great selection of real ales and non alcoholic beverages. Service extremely friendly and welcoming and a short history of the Inn was explained. Atmosphere superb, a huge change in layout since refurb and works well with little quiet corners in abundance. Decoration top class. Dog friendly.”

“This was our first time here since the refurb. Wow! What a change!! Love, love, love the new decor and open plan, but also snug feel. The food was absolutely fabulous and was quite clearly cooked freshly. We were very impressed. Service was amazing. The staff were friendly and polite and happy to engage in conversation. Service was also fast and efficient - 10/10. We have already booked to return on 1st Nov and will be bringing friends with us. ❤️”

“Good service and atmosphere and facilities. Extra car parking available if necessary. Sorry, but the 3 meals were average for presentation and taste. We were asked if we required extra condiments and were presented with a plastic bottle of mayonnaise!”

“well first visit since change of ownership and I have to say what an abject failure this place has become. beer still good and plenty of variety but sadly only positive. The food however was appalling. how can someone from a professional kitchen think it's ok to serve burnt offerings. my wife ordered a chicken burger that came looking like a piece of coal with a chicken wing looking positively fossilised. we mentioned to our waitress (not her fault) who suggested she would pass our feedback to the chef. Having waited a while to see whether anything would be done to rectify the situation my - by then - hungry wife picked off the lava crust and reluctantly ate the dry chicken. when the waitress cleared our plates I enquired about the response from the kitchen upon which she informed me that the chef had said 'he would do it better next time!' Anyway lesson learnt is that i won't return, as a place who can't master the deep fat frier isn't worth anyone's custom. A point of context is that there were only about 6 diners in at the time so it wasn't like the kitchen was overrun. post manager response edit: In order to inform other guests who may consider coming here I feel that I should offer some facts in reply: Firstly there is a distinct difference between crispy and burnt (photo clearly demonstrates this) plus at no point were we offered a replacement wing nor any attempt to rectify any aspect of our order. it's a shame that poor customer service is reinforced by the management team and claim that the chefs are talented yet cannot reheat a fairly easy meal correctly. I would strongly suggest you avoid this place as profit is clearly put in front of basic customer service!”
