About Deadwood Smokehouse Nantwich

Deadwood Smokehouse Nantwich is a barbecue restaurant in Nantwich, at 16 Beam St, with a 666 challenge for diners who want to take it on. The Deadwood Platter is a sharing dish served with seasoned fries and corn on the cob. Beef brisket tacos and the Monster Burger give other ways to order, and a waffle dessert is on the menu. Sides such as sweet potato fries and onion rings can be added to a meal. The drinks list covers cocktails and American sodas, so the bar side of the restaurant has its own place beside the food. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It plays 2000s pop.

“I ordered the Chicken n Waffle Burger and there wasn't a lot of maple syrup so the waffle ended up feeling kind of dry. The chicken wasnt very moist. My partner ordered the beef brisket tacos and didn't receive a side of gravy. The chips were also really poor in flavour and lukewarm. The value for money isnt that great compared to what you get in quantity. The menus were also sticky so I think some more effort is needed for what you end up paying for. Good service though”

“Absolutely dreadful experience for our son's 4th birthday. The food looked impressive when it arrived, but unfortunately it was all style and no substance. The brisket was incredibly dry and didn't resemble properly smoked BBQ brisket. The chicken was so overcooked and tough it was actually hurting my teeth to chew. The ribs were disappointing, the corn was dry, and the so-called BBQ pit beans looked more like dried chickpeas and kidney beans than anything you'd expect from a smokehouse. My other son ordered a chilli dog and left most of it because the sausage was rock hard. The buttermilk chicken was equally poor, with the coating so hard and crunchy it felt like biting into popcorn kernels. To make matters worse, the tenderstem broccoli listed with the meal was missing completely. The drinks were poor quality as well. At £3.45 each, the "American sodas" tasted like cheap fizzy cordial. What really disappointed us was the response from staff. We were asked whether everything was OK. When we explained that we weren't happy with the food, the response was simply, "Do you want anything else?" There was no attempt to understand the issues or resolve them. The service also felt unprofessional, with staff chewing gum while taking orders and preparing drinks. In the end, after spending around £95 for two adults and two children, we left and had to take the kids to McDonald's because the meal had been such a let-down. This was supposed to be a special family meal for our son's birthday. Instead it was one of the worst restaurant experiences we've had in a long time. Would not return and cannot recommend”

“Went for the full platter and left disappointed. Meat was dry across the board, chicken/brisket especially. Tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. For what you pay, it should be better. To be fair, our table was delayed when we got there because of an electrical issue, and they gave us free drinks for the wait. Staff were friendly the whole time. No complaints there. Just the food didn't live up to it. Wouldn't order the platter again.”

“Overall a disappointing meal out. The actual food was okay some of the meats were a bit dry like the chicken and the sauces available were not to my taste but that's personal preference. The biggest issue we had was the service. We ordered a sharing Deadwood Platter, but wanted to change the seasoned fries to sweet potato fries to which we were told that's an extra £12, so £6 each portion of fries changed to sweet potato. Which made no sense right away. They sell extra side dishes the fries are £3.99 and Sweet Potato are £4.99, or you could have 3 extra side dishes for £12 so we ordered 2 portions of sweet potato fries and 1 portion of onion rings as extras. When the meal came out it had 2 sweet potato fries but not as an extra so we were missing the original fries that came with the platter. So the wife raised the issue and the lady serving us proceeds to argue that no if you want the seasoned fries that will be another extra cost. Now we didn't really want them as we only wanted to upgrade them in the first place but ultimately we had paid for them and expect to be given what we paid for. Based on the prices of their sides though surely the upgrade would have been £1 per serving so £2 extra not the £12 she was stating. To add insult we then noticed we also were missing the corn on the cobs that come with the platter to which she did apologize and get some. The experience of going out for a meal somewhere is totally ruined when you have to get into an argument to get what you paid for.”
