About Indian Ocean
Indian Ocean is an Indian restaurant at 27 Welsh Row in Nantwich, open daily and evenings only. Food reaches the table on a cart, and hot towels are brought out as part of the service. The menu starts with onion bhaji and moves on to curries, among them Lamb Dansak and saag paneer, with poppadoms and nan breads served alongside. Dishes and cutlery arrive very hot. The team splits the front of house between them, with several staff members handling greeting, seating, drinks and taking orders.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the onion bhaji, with praise also for the chicken madras, lamb dansak and a lamb tikka saag with extra garlic, and several call the portions generous. Reviewers describe welcoming staff, quick dishes even when busy, and takeaways ready at the stated collection time. A minority are sharply critical. One takeaway customer found the dishes greasy from too much ghee, with a saag paneer that seemed to lack paneer and a lamb rogan josh in a mushy sauce. Another reports a king prawn starter with a single battered prawn and a sheek kebab that crumbled. A vegan diner says they were told the restaurant does not cater for vegans and were charged for their drinks before leaving. One reviewer found the dishes and cutlery very hot without warning. Another praised the greeting, the drinks and the order taken, then the meal wheeled in on a cart.

“The WORST indian resturant I have ever been to. I had butterfly kingprawn starter 8.50 I got 1 batter prawn it was disgusting my partner had a sheek kebab that just crumbled on the plate we decided to leave. So for 3 poppadoms 2 starters, 1 glass of wine and pint half beer they charged us 40.00 would not recommend this place to anyone”

“We came out with my yoga class for our Christmas meal and it was delicious. Everything was fresh and yummy. We ordered so many different dishes including saag panner, tarka deal, onion bhaji, chicken tikka, bounce, korma and many others. Amazing nan breads and delicious mushroom rice. But the service was amazing. They were constantly making sure we have everything we need. Dishes came really quickly and it was really busy as well. I would highly recommend it.”

“We are new to the area and had a takeout meal from here but frankly it was dreadful. Way too much Ghee used in every dish making it overly greasy. The Sag Paneer didn't have any paneer in it. I suspect it was grated cheddar rather than chunks of paneer. The Lamb Rogan Josh was just a mushy liquidised sauce with very little freshly cooked vegetables although the Lamb was tender and well trimmed. Overall a very poor quality meal. Never again!”

“This is the best Indian I’ve been to by far! The food is incredibly delicious (the Chicken Madras and Lamb Dansak especially!) and the portion sizes are very generous. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. I’ve been here a countless amount of times and it never disappoints. I would highly recommend to anyone :)”

“Great food (loved the onion bhaji); very efficient service (one to greet us, one to show us to a table, one to bring our drinks, one to take our order, and one who wheeled it in on a cart); nice and warm (we were cold and soaking from a rainy day on the canal). All in all a great experience. Wish we had Indian restaurants like this in Texas!”
