About Sun Sing

Sun Sing is a Chinese takeaway in Nantwich, with its shop at 12 Welsh Row. The kitchen prepares Cantonese-style dishes, including dishes made with Cantonese sauce, so the menu has a regional Cantonese thread running through it. Salt and pepper dishes make up another part of the menu, with salt and pepper chicken and salt and pepper chips both listed among them. Fried rice rounds out the range, and chicken fried rice is one of the versions available.

Customer Review Summary

The complaints are significant, though. Two reviewers say items were missing from orders on two occasions and that the restaurant refused to send them because it was too busy. A longtime customer reports a recent decline: rock hard salt and pepper chicken, watery Cantonese sauce on the crispy beef, dry satay chicken, and orders padded with more rice and noodles. Another found the crispy duck not crispy and the fried rice soggy. One reviewer who did get a replacement delivery says it arrived cold.

“Tried this place for a Chinese about 2yrs back and found the food super tasty, arguably the best Chinese takeaway we'd ever had food from. Needless to say we were very happy to return and got a takeaway from here anywhere between 1-2 times a month ever since, the majority of the times we've had no issues at all with the quality of the food. We have however noticed a definite decline in the quality of the food recently though, unsure if the chefs have changed, they've swapped out ingredients or just become more stingy with the portions and shown less care in the preparation of the food. But either way, the last 2-3 orders we've had from here all of which were about the £50 mark to feed 2 of us, the salt & pepper chicken was rock hard and tasteless, the Cantonese sauce on the crispy beef was tasteless and watery, satay chicken was very dry, they've also started packing out the orders with more rice, chips, noodles etc and less of the good stuff chicken, prawn etc. Also, they once forgot half the order to which I called up and said they can send a delivery driver as its not my issue, they did send someone... Who took about 1 hours to get here by which time the food was all cold. The £50 price tag for our usual order was already a tad steep for the amount of food we got anyway but we accepted it because quality top-notch, however this place has gone downhill and by the looks of other reviews I'm not the only one that's noticed. Some advice to the owners, bring the prices down to match the unfortunately lower quality you serve these days, or get the quality back up to what it used to be which was genuinely fantastic. Otherwise, I think you'll lose many loyal customers!!!”

“Missing food on two separate occasions, then refused to deliver the missing items because they were “busy”despite having paid for them. Foods not great either. Won’t be ordering again”

“Today i went to my local Chinese sun sing and its was INCREDIBLE!!!! my salt and pepper chips was tantalising and flavourful. my daughter loved the chicken fried rice so its so kid friendly. Also when i came to collect the amazing lad at the counter ( i think his name was Vincent ) was so helpful and kind. However he did not give me fortune cookies but thats okay because he gave me prawn crackers! How generous.”
