Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the Sunday roast, with slow roast pork called excellent and the gravy singled out as even better, alongside a family feast of food piled in the middle for sharing. The seafood tapas comes close behind, praised for presentation and portions, though one diner ordered a fourth dish and found it too much. A steak is also called the best in the county, and the cocktails get repeated mention, including a Pina Colada and a long island iced tea made by the bartender and manager. Service is described as friendly, with one server who gave food and drink recommendations and another who arrived at the table before diners knew they needed him. Reviewers also mention the garden, the dog friendly welcome and the wine list. The one sharply negative account describes a Sunday roast with pulled Cajun pork that clashed with the other meats, pigs in blankets half overcooked and half pale, and frozen looking vegetables of tiny chopped carrot, swede and red pepper. That reviewer also felt the gravy drowned the plate and wished it came in a jug.

“Popped into the Shoulder of Mutton and had a great time. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, and a really nice place to relax and enjoy a few drinks. Big shout-out to Rochelle, who was brilliant from start to finish. She’s super friendly and makes an incredible Pina Colada – honestly one of the best I’ve had! You can tell she takes pride in what she does, and it really adds to the experience. Will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend giving it a visit if you’re in the area.”
