About MyThai Restaurant Manchester

MyThai Restaurant Manchester is a Thai restaurant in Manchester's Northern Quarter. The kitchen works through noodle soups, stir-fried noodles and curries, with Boat Noodle Soup with braised beef as the dish that sets the noodle side of the menu apart. Pad Thai and green curry cover the more familiar Thai orders, and the green curry comes with tofu or alongside egg-fried rice. The dining room is small, so the restaurant suits a quick sit-down meal in the Northern Quarter. Spicier dishes sit on the menu next to the milder classics.

Customer Review Summary

Curries draw the most praise, from a creamy, warming tofu green curry to a green curry with egg-fried rice, Panang braised beef and a duck curry with pineapple that one reviewer called an authentic taste of Thailand. Pad Thai comes close behind, and pork dumplings, spring rolls and garlic fiery wings are also singled out. One diner's son preferred the sweet and sour chicken. One reviewer found the soup fiery but exactly as they remembered it from Bangkok. Staff are repeatedly described as kind and attentive, and food arrives quickly, though weekends are busy and seating can take a while. The criticisms are specific. One reviewer found a dessert overly sweet and other dishes excessively salty, the fried rice included. A vegetarian diner objected that dishes are not labelled vegetarian or vegan and that there is no online allergen menu, despite the business having several branches. One reviewer left a hat behind and a waitress ran down the street to return it.

“The food was amazing. The atmosphere was also interesting and inviting. The customer service was beyond outstanding - the waitress was really sweet and kind, and made us feel very welcome!”

“The food was visually appealing and the customer service was excellent, but there needs to be a better balance of flavors because some dishes were overly sweet, like a dessert, while others were excessively salty. The fried rice even had visible clumps of unmelted salt. I believe they should focus more on refining the flavors rather than hurrying to serve the food. I chose this place based on the stellar reviews on Google, so perhaps they had a different chef today”

“Great local Thai dishes and all the normal selections, such as Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, curries and fried rice. I tried the chicken noodle soup, and my daughter had Tum Yum Kai soup, both were delicious. Busy on weekends, it may take 15-20m to get seated.”

“I’d been in Evelyn’s next door for a drink and when I walked outside, I was drawn to MyThai from the incredible smell coming from the restaurant. I’m so glad I went, the staff were lovely and attentive and my food came out immediately, less than 5 minutes from ordering. I have IBD so I can’t have overly spicy food and the staff took this into consideration. I ordered the Gang Ped Yang - duck curry with pineapple - and it was delicious 🤤 An authentic taste of Thailand, I wouldn’t hesitate to return!”

“Best ever Thai in city . Love the curries and pad Thai. Amazing quality of food and blend of spices. Space is a bit small but the lovely staff doesn't make us feel that. Definitely worth going.”
