About Thaikhun Street Trafford Centre

Thaikhun Street Trafford Centre is a Thai restaurant on the upper level of The Trafford Centre in Manchester, at 123 The Orient. It serves an all-you-can-eat buffet in a dining space decorated with bric-a-brac hand-selected from Thailand. The hot section includes curries and appetisers, and classic Thai dishes sit alongside vegan options and some modern twists. Customer Review Summary

Diners most often praise the buffet, where the dessert spread of soft serve, fruit, cake and a chocolate fountain draws repeated mentions. Close behind is the pork and white radish noodle soup, finished with self-added spring onions and coriander, and one reviewer with an egg allergy appreciated the labelled dishes. Servers come up in over half the reviews as welcoming, attentive and friendly, and one walked a table through how to approach the buffet. Complaints are more scattered. One reviewer wanted more curries and found most of the stock to be frozen-style appetisers, another found the drinks pricey and the dessert choice limited, and some dishes were too spicy for one diner. One reviewer found some staff rude. Another advises avoiding seats near the buffet, where people carrying hot soup, curry and drinks pass over diners' heads and bump into them as the queue builds.

“It was our first time trying the Thai buffet at Trafford Centre, and I had a really lovely experience! A special shout-out to Apple, who was such a lovely and friendly member of staff. She was always smiling, welcoming, and very attentive. Her warm and positive attitude really made my visit even more enjoyable. Thank you, Apple! 😊 As for the buffet, there was a great variety of dishes, and many of them were quite spicy. Since I’m not very good with spicy food, some dishes were a little too hot for me. However, my favourite part of the meal was the pork and white radish noodle soup I had at the end. It was warm, comforting, and delicious, and I really liked that I could add my own spring onions and coriander. 🌿 Overall, a very enjoyable first visit. Great food, a nice atmosphere, and especially wonderful service from Apple! ❤️”

“I’ve been here on two occasions with family, and enjoyed the buffet choices. Really appreciated the labelling of the food and allergens, as I have an egg allergy. On the second occasion, our server, Yanisa, was welcoming, polite and helpful, which also added to the experience. The evening atmosphere was quieter than the lunchtime on the first occasion, but overall, I have no complaints and would recommend this place. 💕✨”

“Had a really nice experience here today. The food and drink were great, but what made the visit even better was the excellent service from Apple. She was very attentive, polite, and friendly throughout the meal, always checking if everything was okay and making us feel welcome. You can tell she genuinely cares about customers. we’ll come back again! Thank you”

“Our server Apple was so lovely and really went out of her way to make sure we were well looked after during our visit. Very good staff, everyone is friendly and attentive. Avoid being seated near the buffet as people end up lifting hot soup, curry and drinks over your head and bumping into you as it gets busy round the food queue.”

“Located in The Trafford Centre on the upper level. With eccentric bric a brac hand selected from Thailand it certainly keeps your eyes busy whilst you are trying our delicious Thai food! Indulge in our all you can eat buffet, featuring classic Thai dishes, vegan options and some modern twists. There are over 10,000 parking spaces but to get to us you are best located in the ‘Orient 10’ park for ease or you can catch the tram direct to the centre on the new Metrolink Trafford Park line and stop at some of the many shops on the way to the way to the Orient food mall.”
