Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the curries, with a vegetable Thai red curry named the standout in generous portions and one diner calling the Massaman chicken curry the best they had. Close behind are soft shell crab with chilli and holy basil alongside sticky rice, Pad Thai with prawns, battered scallops, and chicken spring rolls with plum sauce. Drinks draw their own praise, including cocktails, Thai milk tea, and Chang beer that one diner calls original. Several describe the menu as diverse and the staff as friendly and cheerful. Slow service is the recurring complaint. One diner had to repeatedly prompt staff to take an order and bring the bill, another says billing took a while, and a third found the food slow to arrive when a tour group was in. One reviewer found the fried aubergines in panang sauce thickly battered and oily, and the stir fry flat noodles bland and not spicy. Another found a salad too spicy, and the kitchen made a brand-new one.

“Good food at reasonable prices and the flavours were really nice. The food was quite slow to arrive when I visited, probably because there was a tour group in the restaurant. However, overall, we had a good experience and would come back again.”

“We went there in the heatwave and their air conditioner saved us all! Their variety of food and drinks were amazing, everyone be able to get something they like. I like my Thai milk tea and Pad Thai with prawns 🦐”

“Visiting Manchester and decided to go to Try Thai based on reviews. Didn't disappoint! Everything from service to food was exceptional. We were served by Apple who was so sweet. Battered scallops and chicken spring rolls with the best plum sauce, followed by Duck stir fry in red wine and brandy for hubby and I had the best Massaman chicken curry. Followed by two cocktails. Would definitely recommend 👌”

“What an amazing find! The food is incredibly authentic, fresh, and full of flavour. Every single dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. The restaurant’s tables and washroom are also very clean , and the staff are welcoming, attentive, and handled the busy service so well despite the restaurant being packed. A huge shout-out to Poon and the chef! We found one of the salads a little too spicy and honestly thought we'd just get a bowl of water to rinse off the chillies. Instead, they went above and beyond by making us a brand-new salad, which was absolutely delicious and just as impressive as all the other dishes. Their kindness and excellent customer service really made our visit even more memorable. We enjoyed our first meal so much that we came back again during our four-day stay in Manchester. That says it all! Highly recommended if you're looking for authentic food, fantastic service, and a great dining experience.”
