Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often point to the coffee, describing a flat white on a guest espresso, a nutty roast and a hojicha latte as flavourful and not too bitter, with beans on display to smell. Close behind are the food and bakes: the fried chicken sando comes up repeatedly, alongside a prawn and egg sandwich, lemon drizzle cake, a bakewell brioche bun and generous breakfast porridge. Matcha and hot chocolate also get mentions, and the staff are called friendly. Several describe a warm, well-decorated space with plenty of seating inside and out, and dogs are welcome. The main caveat is price, with a few calling it pricier than other cafes, though one finds it worth it for the taste. Smaller complaints include an iced peanut butter latte that separated, bread one diner would prefer slightly toasted, and a wish for more bean variety. One reviewer noted that food comes out as it is ready, and another bought decaf beans to take home for a family member.

“A very popular spot and I see why. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were super helpful and nice. Although everything is pricier than other cafes, it is totally worth it or the taste alone.”

“I had heard good things about this spot, then a nice coincidence happened when I realised some of the coffee beans I had and loved in Nottingham are also stocked here. I bought those and some decaf beans for my daughter. The packaging boxes weren’t in the best condition but not a huge issue. Both tasted lovely, good quality coffee. More premium price point. Would be good to see more variety. We also got an iced matcha and iced peanut butter latte. Matcha was nice. Unfortunately, the peanut butter doesn’t mix well in the drink and had separated. I’m not quite sure on the hygiene rating and practices etc and as there were a lot of dogs in the shop / around the food counters, we opted not to have food on that occasion. Customer service was fine, no issues and nothing over and above. It was very busy, clearly well loved by the locals. Would visit again.”

“A truly comfortable and charming restaurant. Walking through the door felt like stepping through Doraemon’s Anywhere Door and being instantly transported to a trendy café in Taiwan. The atmosphere is warm, relaxing, and full of character. Highly recommended!”

“Had a lovely experience visiting the coffee is fantastic, not too bitter very aromatic. Lemon drizzle cake was delicious nice balance of sweetness and then that sharpness of lemon throughout it. Very nicely decorated inside with an inviting warmth, will happily go back and try some more of the savoury items.”

“Really good coffee! The four different coffee bean options are available to smell and so good. Also great hot chocolate, matcha, and hojicha options. We tried the nutty roast and a hojicha latte (first time). Both were delicious! The mugs are so nice as well and the staff is very friendly. There is plenty of seating inside and outside.”
