About Astley Coffee House

Astley Coffee House, a coffee shop in Manchester on Manchester Road, builds its counter menu around toasties and toasted sandwiches, and the chicken tikka panini with mango chutney is the one customers order again and again. A selection of coffees and teas runs alongside, with cakes and sweet items set out on the counter, where the team will point out one to pick. Orders are placed at the counter and no bookings are taken, so visitors simply walk in. The doors open daily through the daytime. A step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance makes the room reachable for visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs mean families with young children can sit down together. Dogs are welcome inside. Music plays across the small room while the counter works through the day.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the chicken tikka panini, one describing it with mango chutney and bread that was super fresh and toasted to perfection. Toasted sandwiches come close behind, with one reviewer calling them the best ever and another ordering extra to take home. The sweet goodies displayed on the counter and the selection of coffees and teas also draw praise, and one reviewer describes a delicious coffee. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, polite and welcoming. The owner is described as happy to chat, and servers gave good recommendations on which cakes to get. The cosy interior and good music suit a short work break, a catch up between friends, mums with young children, and passers by with their dogs stopping in. One reviewer who spent a full working day there saw the busy and quiet spells handled with a smile. A few also mention good value and quick service. One diner asked for a panini not to be overloaded, and the staff met that request.

“I came here on my 30 minute break as i work just down the road in morrisons. The interior is very cozy, good music. I got myself a chicken tikka panini and it as amazing. No complaints whatsoever, the two girls working were polite, gentle talking and friendly/respectful. I’ll be coming here again. I can promise you that haha! Edit: Just to add, the panini are usually more full. I asked for them to not overload it, and they met my expectations and needs!”
