Customer Review Summary
Dry food is the most repeated complaint. Chips are called dry, rock hard, or old tasting, and rice dishes get the same treatment, with chicken chow mein described as having a rubber taste and egg fried rice as having no flavour. Reviewers also fault the stir fried prawn noodles as soggy and watery, beef satay with tough beef, stale prawn crackers, and a chicken and cashew nut dish that was half boiled carrots. One reviewer says the roast pork curry was not fresh and recalls chicken that was severely undercooked on an earlier order. Two say their meals ended up in the bin, and long-time regulars describe quality and portions slipping. Praise is scarcer. One reviewer calls it their favourite Chinese, citing a friendly, efficient person taking phone orders and a smiley driver, and another finds the Hong Kong style food cheap and satisfactory in quality and quantity. One delivery arrived quickly and very hot. A regular who phoned to ask for a replacement after a small duck portion found the reply rude.

“I walked into this run down takeaway when the pearl had shut for maintenance. What an extremely disappointing experience!!! The chips are rock hard deep fried and nothing like a chippy chip. The chicken fried rice was egg fried with shop bought chicken plonked on the top. Curry was awful and all went in the bin. Don't choose here”

“Quite disappointed with the quality of the food. The chips are way far too dry. Roast pork curry..pork wasn't as fresh as it should be. In the past, chicken was severely undercooked. Not recommended.”

“After being recommended by a couple of dog walkers in Heaton Park thought I would give this place a try! My wife decided to pass having read the google reviews so I had the sweet and sour special which was just ok. I shall not be going again as it wasn’t very tasty .”

“Was so looking forward to our first meal at Tasty, having been recommended them and paid £30 for 2 people because I'm so tired after cooking all day at work, i was so looking forward for someone else cooking for us, it ended up in the bin!!! I could have gone to a restaurant with no washing up for a proper treat. Why do take aways think it's OK for us to eat crap.”

“Love this place, our favourite Chinese. The girl who takes orders over the phone is always friendly and efficient, and the guy who delivers is lovely and smiley! (Sorry don't know your names!) Nice food too, thanks!!”
