Swinton Buffet
Quick info
About Swinton Buffet
Set in a converted old pub on Bolton Rd, Swinton Buffet runs an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet in Manchester, in a room recently renovated. The spread covers starters, mains and desserts, with chicken featuring across many of the dishes, and diners help themselves as often as they like. A bar operates alongside the food, pouring Cobra and Stella Artois (4%) plus wines under the Euca Hill label. Reservations are recommended, and the kitchen also packs orders for takeaway and delivery for anyone eating at home. The dining room takes a step-free entrance, which helps visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are on hand for families with young children. The layout leaves room to move between the counters and tables. Doors open Tuesday to Sunday, with Mondays closed. Parking on the property itself is limited, though more spaces sit nearby.

Customer Review Summary
Value for money is the thread running through nearly every account: reviewers describe food that is cheap, filling and varied enough that most find several dishes they like, and several say they leave full. Close behind is the staff, repeatedly called friendly, helpful and attentive, with one reviewer noting they are young but could not have been more so. Starters and desserts draw specific praise, one diner calling the starters particularly delightful and the desserts equally satisfying. The caveat is consistency and setting. Several say the food is okay rather than good, one flatly noting some of it is rubbish, and another complains that practically everything on the buffet is chicken based. The interior divides opinion sharply: one describes an old pub mid conversion where inside is fairly horrible, another calls the place dated and depressing, while a third reports a recent renovation that looks great. Waits for refills came up too, even when the room was not busy.

“Read the reviews and went with no expectations And it was great! …”

“Saw quite a few reviews of this place but finally went yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Food was decent, cheap, and filling. You know what you're getting! Staff, though young, couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. Great customer service. Interior is the only thing that lets it down. It is very clearly an old pub that they're (hopefully) in the process of fully converting into a buffet. Inside is fairly horrible but as long as you're not at a Chinese buffet in Swinton to critique the interior design, you'll be fine. Decent!”

“I went to Swinton Buffet with pretty average expectations and honestly, that’s exactly what I got. The food is okay if you just want something quick and cheap, but don’t expect much in terms of quality. A lot of dishes tasted either too …”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
