Customer Review Summary

Most reviewers centre on the bacon cheeseburger, described as huge, dripping and delicious, with free toppings that can be piled on and a double patty that fills diners up. Close behind are the fries, with both the regular and Cajun versions called crispy and better than typical fast-food fries, and the refillable drink, peanuts and condiments get a mention too. A mango and banana milkshake is one reviewer's favourite, and a hot dog with grilled onions and pickles also earns praise. The campus branch is repeatedly described as quiet with lots of seating, and one reviewer found it much better than the Arndale outlet. Complaints are split. Several object to everything arriving in a paper bag, with all the chips poured in, which they find poor for eating in. Others call it overpriced for a decent meal, and one late-night visitor found the burger undercooked with unmelted cheese and raw-tasting potato. Another said the cheese was cheap and plasticky, the meat unseasoned and the buns cold and soggy. One reviewer was won over by a server's recommendations and humour.

“Very enjoyable burger and fries. Atmosphere was quiet but lots of delivery drivers. Service was great by the man Axel. Made me laugh and made some good recommendations. Would recommend even if it looks quiet on the inside”

“Terrible burger, I paid £50 for 3 burgers and the cheese was super cheap horrible plastic that overpowered everything, the meat was not seasoned at all, The buns are cold and soggy. . I’d prefer a old McDonald’s hamburger over this crap any day. First and last time trying five guys.”

“Granted we came at 11pm but this is genuinely the worst five guys I’ve ever visited & I’ve been to 7 different locations. Took some friends after a gig after bigging the burgers up & the food was so undercooked the cheese hadn’t even melted on the burger! If you like the taste of raw potato & cold cheese burgers head on in!”

“Title: Decent Burger & Fries, But Overpriced Had a cheeseburger and fries from Five Guys recently. The food itself was decent – the burger was okay, and the fries were fine. However, my main issue was the price. I found it to be quite overpriced for what you actually get. Overall, it's an okay place if you're really craving Five Guys, but personally, I felt the cost didn't quite justify the quality compared to other burger options out there. It's alright, just on the expensive side for what amounts to a decent meal.”

“While I'm not particularly fond of burgers, I found the hot dog with grilled onions, pickles, lettuce, cheese, mustard, and tomatoes quite enjoyable. Both the Five Guys and Cajun French fries were crispy and superior to typical fast-food fries. However, the mango and banana milkshake was my favourite. The university's campus location is pleasantly quiet and is a much more preferable setting than a bustling city centre.”
