About Honest Burgers Manchester

Honest Burgers Manchester is a hamburger restaurant at 36 Bridge St in Manchester, serving British beef, chicken, vegetarian and vegan burgers. The menu includes the Classic Smashed Burger, with a seasonal truffle raclette version of the smashed burger also on offer. Nearly the whole menu can be made gluten-free, fried chicken and onion rings included, so guests who avoid gluten can order across the range rather than from a short side list. The gluten-free bun carries a supplement. Servers bring food to the table, and the restaurant takes both walk-ins and bookings. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the smashed burgers, with the California Burger, the Classic Smashed and a seasonal truffle raclette version named, and described as juicy with a char outside. Close behind are the sides: onion rings, rosemary fries and crisp, well-salted chips. Service is repeatedly called friendly, with one server remembering a family from over a year earlier, and diners who walked in without a booking or arrived late say they were served quickly. The main complaint concerns consistency and value. One longtime regular reports missed customisations, undercooked burgers and a gluten-free bun that turns hard and doughy, while delivery orders arrive lukewarm with small, overcooked or stale-looking chips. Two reviewers found the chicken tenders and strips small, dry and tough for the price, and one was offered only a 29p credit after a complaint. Several gluten-free eaters still say much of the menu can be made gluten-free, including fried chicken and onion rings.

“I have to eat gluten free, so limited as to where I can order from. I'm usually ok when I order from honest. But my most recent order was inedible and I paid £8.50 for chicken tenders that were small and tough to eat. I was given 29p credit then refused to let me respond and I can see below Honest will just feedback to the chef, so no real action made anywhere. It's a shame as they used to be good, now the inconsistency and quality to price just doesn't feel worth it.”

“I am a burger lover. I tried Honest Burgers for the first time. I ordered the California burger. It’s so delicious that I finished the burger in no time. The chips were amazingly good as well. Go no where else if you fancy a top notch smashed burger in town.”
  • J S
“While the burger was tasty, both the burger and chips were cold (though this is most likely due to a combination of the delivery driver and the packaging used). And the photo says everything about the chips... Nothing like the ones I have had when I have physically been to the restaurant. Just tiny pieces for the most part that neither looked nor tasted fresh.”

“I have loved in the UK for 24 years now. I have never really enjoyed burgers when I go out to eat because they are usually grey, spongy and tasteless. I absolutely LOVED this burger! They use high quality fresh not frozen meat! Then it's cooked with a char to the outside and juicy in the middle. I will happily journey to Manchester to have another! If the food wasn't enough, the service made our experience even better! The servers were super sweet, knowledgeable and really nice! It's fabulous when everyone knows about the food that is cooked and served and when they are proud of where they work. We went at lunchtime. It was a nice kind of busy. Thank you for a fantastic lunch and making my Hubby's birthday special!”

“We heard it was the best burger in town, and we were not disappointed. Unreal food. We arrived super late and the service was super friendly to serve is before they close. Strongly recommend”
