About Archie's

Archie's is a hamburger restaurant at 115 Oxford Rd in Manchester, just outside Manchester Piccadilly station. The burgers are halal, so guests who eat halal can order from the main menu with confidence. Orders go through a touch screen, and the food is then brought to the table. The falafel burger is the vegetarian option. Milkshakes are part of the offer, including a millionaire milkshake, and dessert comes as a Lotus ice cream cup. Wings and tenders sit on the menu alongside the burgers.

Customer Review Summary

Burgers draw the most praise, from the Route 66 burger with an added chicken fillet to the basic burger and a beef burger one diner's mother found really tasty. One reviewer also points to Halal burgers. The millionaire milkshake and the lotus ice cream cup come close behind, though another diner found their milkshake only ok. The weaker side is everything around the burgers. Wings and tenders are called below par, chips average, and one diner said the wings tasted like old chicken. Vegetarians fare worse, with the falafel burger described as disappointing, more like a veggie burger, and little else to choose from. One diner also received sauce after asking for none. Service is mostly praised, with food arriving within minutes for one family, though a few found the dining room quiet. Opinions on cost split between good value and pricey. One server kept a sundae in the fridge so it would not melt on a hot day.

“Brilliant service by konni, I ordered a drink fries and ice cream sundae. She offered to put the ice cream in the fridge so it didn't melt as the weather in Manchester was 31 degrees, I appreciated this attention to service as she took in the customer experience and the environment into account Thank you konni, a brilliant member of staff”

“It was on a random Saturday afternoon that I felt the need of wanting to grab some food and I thought, I haven't been to Archie's before, why not try there? So I went to order a meal deal but I missed the opening window of the time by a minute off, no big deal, I will just order something small that was not cheap at all. The atmosphere was quiet in the middle of Manchester, I guess many people are not interested with the place? The colours and the decor seem decent but I think it could be better. Anyway, the service was just here is your meal and thank you, not have a nice day, not a how are you today sir? To start a general conversation. The food however wasn't bad,.it just seem bland and looked lifeless. And I requested to not have any sauces on my food due to calorie tracking and I got sauce on my food! Not good.. at least it was cooked that's the only positive thing I can mention. 3/10, I wouldn't suggest going again.”

“There was an amazing selection on the menu, but I do think they could improve their vegetarian options. There was barely anything to choose from apart from the falafel burger. It was okay and edible, but I wouldn’t say I thoroughly enjoyed it. My mam, however loved her beef burger and said it was really tasty. She also really enjoyed the lotus ice cream cup for dessert. Overall it’s a great place if you eat meat, but I’d love to see a few more vegetarian options on the menu.”

“A solid 4 star experience. Fresh wrap that was good for the price. Food brought to our table after ordering from a touch screen. Plenty of seats.”
