  “Asked for a couple of portions of cod and chips. They gave us haddock. Unfortunately not keen on haddock so was a waste of money. Skin on also which I didn’t like.”

  “Amazing fish and chips, “halal” as we asked chef about how they cook, beer batter and if they use beef drippings. So if you’re vegetarian, Muslim or pescatarian it’s a great shout. Please always check before ordering in case anything changes.”

  “Absolutely top food. I had the "3" sausages and chips meal deal with a can of Coke (full fat lol 😆) Mrs had the burger and chips meal deal with a can of Rio, all came to 16 quid, which, given the size of portion you (more than plenty) get i was never going to moan at. Will definitely be visiting again the next time we venture into Pakefield.”

  “I came back for fish and chips where we went when I was a child in the 60s and 70s during stays with my grandparents. The haddock was so fresh, in fact the best I ever had. Chips were crispy. The service was super friendly. If I could give 10 stars I would.”

  “Went here as bought back memories of when my younger self and family came here over 30 years ago. Different owners however food good standard still. Haddock cooked to order and chips portion more than enough. Tasted nice and will pop back again when in area.”

  “Must remind myself not to use again. Such a great location BUT the food isn't up to much. That taste of slightly old oil and the texture of the "cod" not sure what that was? Add to that there were 3 people standing over the fryer chatting away with their phones,friends, family who knows but so unhygienic. Avoid I'd say.”

  “Ten out of ten! First class service and totally delicious cod and chips. Ordered two cod and chips tonight and two plain sausages and everything was mouth watering, cooked to perfection, with crispy batter on the fresh plump cod and fantastic chips. The fat little sausages were gorgeous, meaty, juicy and succulent. And the price for the whole lot was just £23. We sat watching the waves as we ate the whole lot. The Pakefield Plaice is staffed by its hard working owner and really friendly assistants. And pensioners can get the cod and chips special here at an amazing and affordable price. Polite service. Delicious food. Reasonable prices And a view of the sea with benches to sit on just around the corner. Fantastic!”

  “Me and my girfriend have been eating chip shop food for over 20 years, these chips were the best we’ve ever had, and we’ve had hundreds if not thousands of chip shop dinners in our lives! Haddock tasted fresh and perfectly cooked, the battered sausages were 10/10, and the staff were polite and friendly, only gave 4 for atmosphere because it was slightly small in there and not much space when it’s busy. The price was more than reasonable, spent less than £20 for both of our dinners, We will be returning!”
