About Sonny's Street Food
Sonny's Street Food is a Thai restaurant in Loughborough, where the menu runs from starters to curries, noodle soups and dessert. Any dish can be made vegetarian by swapping the meat for tofu or vegetables, so vegetarian diners can order across the whole menu. Tom Yum soup and red curry sit among the savoury dishes, and mango sticky rice appears on the specials board for dessert. Thai milk tea is on the drinks list. The restaurant is open Tuesday to Sunday and closed on Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
Pad Thai draws the most praise at Sonny's Street Food, with one reviewer calling it better than any eaten in Thailand and another noting the small pot of spices that came with it and added a warming heat. Close behind are the curries and noodle soups, including red curry, chicken massaman and a pork noodle soup with a broth that met expectations, along with a flavourful Tom Yum. Starters like vegetable spring rolls, prawn tempura and prawn cakes also get mentions. Mango sticky rice is one reviewer's highlight, and the Thai milk tea is praised more than once. Portions are repeatedly called generous, and one reviewer notes any dish can be made with tofu or vegetables. Staff are described as friendly, quick and accommodating by most. The one recurring-style complaint comes from a single diner who waited at an empty table, had to collect their own menus and ask for the order to be taken, and saw starter plates left until the mains arrived. Several reviewers describe returning for years, one for around eight.

“The service was good, and the staff were very accommodating, quickly providing things we asked for, such as to-go boxes and disposable forks. They also brought each dish to the correct person without having to ask, which was a nice touch. The food was decent overall, but the mango sticky rice was definitely the highlight for me. I'd order that again!”

“Sonny’s is the only restaurant we go to in loughborough and has the best thai food we’ve ever eaten. Their Phad Thai is better than any we had in Thailand! The staff are so lovely and feel like family at this point we go there so often. We would highly recommend Sonny’s to anyone in Loughborough; my go to order is a Thai milk tea, spicy prawn crackers, and a chicken massaman curry. Any dish can also be made vegetarian by choosing tofu or vegetables instead of meat.”

“Proper Thai Nosh. Nothing fancy, Nothing unassuming, just welcoming staff, great food, reasonable prices, take away available if you want it, but it's so much better to eat in, chill and enjoy the food.”

“This is my favourite Thai Food Restaurant because it's their authentic Thai food. The staff are very friendly. The service was quick. I had another dinner with a mate here again. My pork noodle soup broth was as good as I expected. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Their food was very tasty and delicious. I dragged my best friend to try his first Thai Food and he really did enjoy it. I will definitely coming back again and more friends to join with me next time.”
