Customer Review Summary
Oysters are the dish diners raise most, called the freshest and juiciest by one reviewer and incredible by another who tried them for the first time. Close behind are the crab plates, a Cornish crab linguine with orzo and a filling crab mac n cheese, and the bass, with crisp skin in one account and kachumber and bhaji in another. Reviewers also name lobster rolls, a succulent, crispy fish taco, rich sardines, cod roe and octopus, and one notes the menu changes regularly. Several describe welcoming, helpful staff, and one appreciates that no service charge is added automatically. The main criticism comes from a three-star account of slow service: a wait for a jug of water and a waitress who seemed not to like their table. That reviewer, who was pregnant, asked for a burger cooked through and was told burgers look pink because they are cooked the night before, which made her nervous. Another found the alcohol free drinks and cocktails nothing special, though a birthday card at the table was a cute touch.

“This restaurant is perfectly placed in Looe, which makes it a great start. Clean and comfy inside with an open kitchen. So you can watch the food being prepared. We booked for a Sunday lunch, hoping for the roast. We hadn't read the website properly, so it was our own fault when we found out they dont do them in the warmer months. No real drama as the food we.chose was exceptional. We opted to go for several of the smaller plates to ensure we could try a nice mix of food. All cooked to perfection and with ingredients that you know were well sourced. These guys are doing something right as it was busy, but the food and drinks were being delivered efficiently. None of this felt rushed though. It's not the cheapest place to eat bit the food does the talking. Will be booking again for a roast in the winter!”

“This bright and beautiful restaurant is definitely a must try on your trip to Looe, the decor, staff and food are absolutely incredible. My partner and I came here for our second date night whilst on holiday and we did not regret it. Everyone was so welcoming and really knew their stuff when it came to the menu! Special shout out to Harri, who was our server and an absolute gem, making every interaction effortless and lovely✨ I tried oysters as a starter for the first time and they were absolutely incredible. As a seafood lover, I just couldn’t resist whilst we were in such a beautiful seaside town where all of the food is locally sourced✨ My partner had the fish taco which was succulent and crispy, the tortilla was both crisp and soft, amazing! We tried the Appletini cocktail which was also stunning, so beautifully crafted. I then had the Cornish crab linguine which was served with orzo that night and it was insane, the portion size was huge and really filling! My partner, who isn’t that crazy about seafood, ordered the stone bass fillet and it was stunning. Crisp skin with a beautiful glisten on the fillet, honestly to die for! We would highly recommend a visit to this wonderful establishment whilst you’re in Looe. Ask for Harri as a server, she’s a delight!✨”

“We loved it! As a seafood lover I was in my happy place as there was so much to choose from! The meh bits for us all were the alcohol free/ cocktails. Nothing special. But the food definitely was! Standout dishes were the FRESHEST and juiciest oysters, the sardines were rich in taste, cod roe popped as expected, the octopus texture was just right and a very filling, flavoursome crab mac n cheese filled the table out. Price wasn't as bad I was expecting and a nice card for my birthday was a cute touch. A great start to our Cornish seafood journey!”

“Went for dinner last night as a treat for my husband’s 40th birthday. The positives: atmosphere was excellent, really buzzing and was lovely to see so many families there. My husband’s fish dinner was excellent as well. The service just really let it down for us. For a Michelin star establishment, it felt really lacking. We were waiting for a jug of water, our main waitress just didn’t seem to like us (lots of smiling as she served other tables but not ours!) and just didn’t have that Michelin star care and quality we’ve come to find in other restaurants. Shame really, as we were really looking forward to it. I’m sure you’ll have a nice meal to eat but I’d rather go somewhere I feel more welcomed, especially for the price. (Also, not entirely sure what she meant but, due to being pregnant, I asked if my burger could be cooked all the way through. The waitress told me the burgers look a little pink as they are cooked the night before, but she would check. I’m sure she must have misspoke, as I’d be surprised if they were reheating burgers but it did make me a bit nervous.)”
