About Flat Iron London Bridge

Flat Iron London Bridge is a steak house in London on Tooley St, open daily and all day. The menu is small and centres on steak, with a meat of the day special, and each steak comes with sides and sauces. Bone marrow mash is one of the sides, and cocktails are on offer for those who want a drink with the meal. Complimentary popcorn reaches the table before the mains. When the bill arrives, it comes with a mini meat cleaver token that can be redeemed for a free soft-serve vanilla ice cream to finish. The back section of the dining room resembles a walled garden or conservatory. Walk-ins are taken, and bookings are made through the restaurant's website.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the bone marrow mash, calling it unique, crispy and the reason one diner would return, with the truffle mac and cheese and the creamy spinach close behind. The steak itself draws praise for being cooked as requested, juicy and tender, and several call it affordable, with a wagyu "meat of the day" and the flat iron with chips both mentioned. The free extras come up repeatedly: complimentary salted popcorn on arrival and a soft serve vanilla tonka bean ice cream at the end, redeemed with a mini meat cleaver token. Staff are described as friendly and welcoming, and the room as relaxed and lively. Not every verdict is glowing. One reviewer found the medium rare steak chewy and not that flavourful, another called the sides nothing special apart from the baked aubergine, and one noted the seating comes with a time limit. One diner was sent over from the Borough branch and was taken care of straight away.

“Ive been coming here for years and always loved it. The atmosphere is lovely. Gabriel served us and he was lovely and really helpful. The food was delicious and affordable. I got the flat iron with chips and the raspberry gin spritz. 100% would recommend.”

“The food was absolutely delicious, but what made this place truly special was the outstanding service from the staff. Everyone was so warm, friendly, and attentive, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable. It’s rare to find a place with both amazing food and such genuine hospitality. I will definitely be coming back the next time I’m in the area. Highly recommended!”

“I’m a huge steak lover, so naturally Flat Iron is one of my favourite places to eat. It’s affordable, consistently serves high quality, delicious food with great service and a fantastic atmosphere. This was my first time visiting this branch, and although I was initially a little irritated after being sent here from the Borough branch, it was absolutely worth it. We were greeted by Rilton, who was warm, welcoming and efficient. I explained that we’d been sent over from the other branch, and he immediately took care of us. He made the whole experience seamless and is a real credit to the team. I’m very grateful for his excellent service. The food was banging, as always. I also tried the creamy spinach for the first time and wow, it absolutely hit the spot. I’ll definitely be ordering it again. And had my favourite Tony’s margarita! This branch has a really cosy, warm ambience. The seating is quite close together, which creates a more intimate dining experience. Overall, another fantastic experience at Flat Iron. Great food, excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back.”

“It was a really nice atmosphere and the staff were super friendly. The bone marrow mash was PHENOMENAL. One of my favourites sides of all time and I would come here just for it. Super distinct flavour and great texture profile with the crunch of the bone marrow and smooth mash. I opted for getting a slice of steak and scooping up the mash and marrow with it and found that the most enjoyable way to eat the meal. I found the steak a bit chewy and not that flavourful. But I may just prefer more well done steak as I got it medium rare and I’m still entering the steak game. The free popcorn was great to bridge the gap between ordering and getting mains. The free ice cream was really tasty and appreciated. I’d definitely come back and try the more expensive cuts of steak, and try them cooked more”

“By far the most delicious steak I’ve ever had! Cooked medium rare as I’d asked, juicy and tender. The atmosphere was relaxed but lively, we were seated in the back in a beautiful section that looked like a walled garden/conservatory and were given complimentary popcorn as we were seated. Service was quick and friendly too. I had the bone marrow mash & the truffle mac and cheese as sides - the latter being one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! We were also given mini meat cleavers at the end as redeemable tokens for free ice cream which is a lovely touch. As for price, for 2 people we had 2 steaks, 4 sides between us and 4 cocktails which came out at £98 including tip! For London I think that is incredible value. Will be returning”
