About Shanghai Me London
Shanghai Me London is a Pan-Asian restaurant at 22 Park Ln in Mayfair, set at the top of the Hilton Park Lane building with views over Hyde Park and the London skyline. The interiors take their inspiration from 1930s Shanghai. The menu includes Cantonese lobster noodles, served on alkaline noodles with the shells removed, along with Spicy Bluefin Tuna Oshizushi and a dim sum basket of steamed dumplings. A lounge bar sits on the same floor as the restaurant, so drinks and dining share one level. The wine list comes with a sommelier, and the menu also carries alcohol-free sparkling wine and tea.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the Cantonese lobster noodles, with the shells removed and served on springy noodles, and one calls them among the best meals they have had. Close behind are the Spicy Bluefin Tuna Oshizushi, the Ma-Po Tofu, the Tiger Prawns in Chili Sauce and the Braised Beef Short Rib. Others mention the Yellowtail Carpaccio with Black Truffle, the foie gras duck and the Visionary | Dragon cocktail. Desserts draw praise too, including the dessert platter and a giant fortune cookie. The views over Hyde Park and the London skyline come up repeatedly, along with the decor, and many describe the staff as friendly and attentive. The main complaint is service from one diner, who found the staff inattentive, said everything took far too long and had to keep asking for basic things, even while calling the kitchen outstanding. One reviewer suggests booking an early table for a quieter meal, since the room grows fuller and noisier later, and another suggests booking window seats in advance. Several close on the dessert course.

“Shanghai Me has been on my saved list for ages, and I finally got to try it! It honestly exceeded my expectations. Every single dish was delicious—full of flavour, beautifully balanced, and with a creative twist. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with stunning views that make you forget about work the moment you sit down. It’s the perfect spot for a date night. Finish your meal with one of their desserts, and the whole experience just feels complete. Safe to say it’s officially made it onto my list of favourite date-night restaurants in London. Can’t wait to come back. ✨”

“The food was excellent—every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The atmosphere, stylish interior, and stunning views of London make this a truly special place. But one question remains: where is the service? Unfortunately, it was the biggest disappointment of the evening. The staff seemed inattentive, everything took far too long, and we constantly had to ask for basic things. There was very little sense of hospitality. It’s a real shame because the kitchen is outstanding. If Shanghai Me can bring its service up to the same standard as its food and ambiance, it could easily become one of London’s best restaurants.”

“Shanghai Me was a really pleasant surprise. I originally came for the beautiful setting, but left genuinely impressed by the food. The menu isn’t traditional Chinese, Japanese or Western, it’s a creative fusion that somehow works really well. Every course was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and the portions were far more generous than I expected. The dessert platter was definitely a standout and the service throughout the meal was exceptional. Everyone was friendly, attentive and made us feel very well looked after. A fantastic lunch experience in one of the best settings in London. Looking forward to coming back.”

“🥢 Mixed Steamed Dim Sum Basket Each of the four types of steamed dumplings has its own unique charm. The Prawn & Truffle Dumplings burst with plump shrimp and rich truffle flavour in every bite. The Wagyu Beef & Kimchi Dumplings combine the crisp tang of Korean kimchi with the tender, juicy texture of wagyu beef. The Black Cod Dumplings are packed with fresh, delicate seafood flavour. And the Creamy Spicy Corn Dumplings—sweet corn paired with a hint of creamy spiciness, which actually brings out the natural sweetness of the corn even more. 🐂 Braised Beef Short Rib Shanghai Style Slow-braised until melt-in-your-mouth tender and full of flavour. It pairs perfectly with yellow mustard sauce—the sharp, zesty kick of the mustard really brings out the rich aroma of the beef. 🦞 Cantonese Lobster Noodles Cooked in the classic ginger and scallion style, but without being weighed down by heavy batter—you get to taste the pure, natural flavour of the lobster. They’ve even kindly removed all the shells for you, and served it on springy alkaline noodles. One bite of lobster, one bite of noodles—pure bliss every time. 🌶️ Ma-Po Tofu Seriously, this dish needs to be protected—it’s absolutely incredible! The tofu is silky smooth, and the savoury Ma-Po sauce is so moreish and goes perfectly with rice. Unlike the typical Sichuan-style numbing spice, this one is rich and flavourful, made especially to be enjoyed with a bowl of warm rice.”

“I recently visited Shanghai Me at Hilton Park Lane and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant offers beautiful views across Hyde Park and the London skyline, especially around sunset. The interiors are elegant and inspired by 1930s Shanghai, creating a unique atmosphere. We enjoyed the Yellowtail Carpaccio with Black Truffle, Spicy Bluefin Tuna Oshizushi and the Cantonese Style Roast Duck. The dishes were well presented and full of flavour. The Visionary | Dragon cocktail was also a highlight of the evening. Friendly service, great views and a memorable dining experience. I would happily return in the future.”

“Shanghai Me is Mayfair’s highest Pan-Asian restaurant, with strong Chinese and Japanese influences, set high above the heart of London. Inspired by the glamour and energy of Shanghai, the venue brings together elevated dining, signature cocktails, music and sweeping skyline views, from early evening dinners and weekend brunches to Sunset Sessions and late-night dining, with weekends continuing into BUND for a vibrant after-dark experience.”
