About Naughty Piglets
Naughty Piglets is a bistro in London at 28 Brixton Water Ln, run as a guest-chef residency in which a new kitchen takes over every 4 weeks. Seats at the counter overlook the open kitchen and its grills, and the chefs serve and explain the dishes there. The food comes as sharing plates in small portions, with beef tonnato among the beef dishes and oyster mushrooms as a vegetarian option. Lunch brings sandwiches, including a Jambon Beurre. The drinks list is short, with an orange wine on the wine list and two cocktail options. The bistro opens Tuesday to Saturday and closes on Sundays and Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
Diners come for the rotating guest-chef kitchen, and the plates reviewers name span a wide range: beef tonnato, a red mullet cooked katsu-style, oyster mushrooms described as incredibly meaty, hispi cabbage, sweet potato and butternut okonomiyaki, and egg mimosa. One South African reviewer calls the beef the best in five years of living in London. Close behind is the lunchtime jambon beurre, which one regular calls the best sandwich they have had in London, with the pan bagnat also singled out. Service is repeatedly described as friendly, and the bar table and counter seats overlooking the kitchen get praise, including from a solo diner who felt welcome. The recurring complaint is portion size: two reviewers call the plates small, and one suggests a couple of people share. Others mention that some dishes ran too sweet, that only two similar cocktails were offered, and that the room got very hot with the grills going. One reviewer who mentioned a birthday beforehand says the staff celebrated from the moment they arrived.

“Absolute pleasure to dine here last night. The food was outstanding - perfect sharing plates and exquisite seasonal ingredients (the hispi cabbage is living rent free). The biggest call out though was the service. There are no egos just lovely, friendly and attentive people. Keep doing what you’re doing.”

“I’m a South African. Anyone who knows South Africans knows that we are very particular about our read meat. I can honestly say that the beef I had here was the very best beef I’ve had throughout my entire 5 years living in London. To top it off, the ambience was intimate, authentic, personal and vibrant. The staff were friendly, welcoming and enjoyable. I’ve already recommended this to two other friends and will definitely be back!”

“4.5 star to chef Thomas! Food is delicious although some of the dish is a bit too sweet. Potion is not big, so couple of people have dinner and share would be sensible”

“What a gorgeous little place! The food we had from the current chef Thomas Lemercier was unbelievable - we inhaled it all before taking any pictures, but our faves were the sweet potato butternut okonmiyaki and the egg mimosa! Service, music and wine all 10/10 too.”

“I’ve been coming here for years and for good reason - it’s brilliant. For the past few years there has been a number of chefs who take residency of the dinner menu here, and those that I have tried have been really good. The most recent dinner visit I went to was Marta Sandini who did a European-Asian fusion menu - was delicious! On a much more regular basis I come to Naughty Piglets for their lunch time sandwiches. Margaux’s Jambon Beurre is easily the best Jambon Beurre i’ve ever had and could well be the best sandwich I’ve had in London. There are other sandwiches available each time (shout out to the Pan Bagnat) but if you’re going for the first time then you have to get the Jambon Beurre.”
