Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out traditional fish and chips fried in beef dripping, with cod and haddock named as favourites. Several describe the fish as fresh, crispy and flaky, and the chips as spot on, especially with salt and vinegar. Portions come up repeatedly as generous, and a few say the food recalls old-school chippies from decades ago. One reviewer also enjoyed the curry. Several call the weekday lunchtime deal on cod and chips a bargain. The owner is described as friendly, welcoming and kind, including to one reviewer's son. The one critical account comes from a diner who ordered three regular cod. Two were so watery that liquid poured out when the fish was picked up, and all three had soggy batter within minutes of leaving the shop. The same reviewer describes a large gherkin that seemed old and tasted fizzy, and says only the chips were good. One first-time visitor asked for sauce packets, was told there was a charge, and the owner then waived it.

“Exceptional fish and chips, like the stuff you used to get in the 80s. Gary might be Cypriot but he's keeping the old English tradition of tasty beef dripping fish and chips alive today. So good.”

“Went on Friday and had a great experience. Proper authentic old-school fish and chips cooked in beef dripping, giving everything a rich traditional flavour. The fish was fresh with a crisp batter and the chips were spot on. The owner was super friendly, charming, and really welcoming, which made the visit even better. A great example of a proper traditional chippy done right. Would definitely go back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Good little chippie. Not far from Brixton. Lunchtime (till 2:30pm) special for £6.50 is a bargin for cod and chips.”

“Visited from Chicago, USA!(= I am a sucker from some good fish and chips! These were Deliciously fried cod and haddock that left us wanting more! So crispy and flaky at the same time😋 Chips are delicious as well with salt and vinegar. We also tried the curry and it definitely did not disappoint 😄 Owners are very polite and so sweet! After I paid we seen they had ketchup, mayo, and tartar sauce packets so I asked for some and she said it was a charge and I said that's not a problem but the man said it was on the house since it was our first time🥹👍🏼 thank you so much! 🫶🏼11/10!”
