Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often point to a family-friendly welcome, with several describing space for pushchairs and a good place to bring little ones, alongside friendly, welcoming staff. Breakfast, brunch and lunch draw the most praise, and diners name the shakshuka, the salads, a brownie, a sandwich or wrap, and chips described as great. One reviewer calls the food outstanding with large portions, and another found it decent. Close behind is the room itself, called spacious, light and airy, and beautifully decorated, with a garden and downstairs seating that one diner was happy to be sent to when the main floor was packed. A few note the coffee, one liking the generous cup and another calling it okay. The main caveat is value: one reviewer paid a high price for a small plate of corn fritters and a Brie and rocket open sandwich they likened to one slice of cheese on toast, and found the place a bit loud. Another found the shakshuka spicier than expected. One reviewer who emailed a large booking says it was handled smoothly despite several changes.

“Came here for lunch on a Sunday. My gf got the corn fritters for £18. Quality was good but very small portion for that price. Bloom over the road does the same thing for £11. I got the Brie & rocket “open sandwich” which also tasted nice but was essentially one slice of cheese on toast for £9.75, definitely not a sandwich. Also got chips which were great. Overall spent about £45 for what felt like a meal for one. Bit loud in there too.”

“Nice place with quality food and friendly staff. I made a large booking via email and everything was handled very smoothly by Gemma, despite a number of changes on our end (prior to our booking). Would definitely be happy to return again.”

“Finally got along to this cafe after walking past for years, and will definitely be back. Beautiful interior, really delicious food, and friendly waitstaff. Really child friendly but felt like the kind of place you could go for a nice lunch date too.”

“Spinach is a really nice, cozy spot perfect for a family lunch, brunch, or coffee. The food is good and the customer service is friendly and welcoming. We tried the shakshuka, which was a bit spicier than expected (and trust us, we can handle spicy food we’re from Africa!), so we weren’t sure if that’s how it’s meant to be or if it was just a little extra heat. Aside from that, we had a great time and enjoyed the experience overall.”
