Quick info
About Hiba Street Food
Hiba Street Food is a Palestinian restaurant at 10 Tottenham St in London, serving Lebanese and Palestinian shawarma and grilled meats. The shawarma comes as chicken or lamb, and the Hiba Mixed Shawarma Wrap combines them in one order. Grilled dishes include kofta, shish taouk and lamb skewers, while falafel and hummus sit alongside vegan options for those who skip meat. Food is cooked to order, so dishes take a little time to arrive. The dining space is small with limited seating, and guests are sometimes asked to wait for a table. A service charge is added to the bill. Each meal ends with a small piece of baklava or another dessert, brought to the table at no extra cost.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the shawarma and grilled meats, with the chicken shawarma, lamb shawarma and a mixed shawarma wrap all named, and a grilled whole chicken described as juicy, smoky and tender. Close behind are the kofta, Shish Taouk, chicken and lamb skewers, and falafel, with one diner calling the falafel among the best in recent times. Others praise the lentil soup, a freshly dressed Hiba salad, creamy hummus, fresh mango juice and mint tea. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, and several find the prices reasonable for the portions. The recurring complaints concern space: the dining room is described as small, with a wait to be seated and little room to move, though outdoor seating is mentioned. One reviewer objects that a service charge is added to the bill and a tip is then suggested on top, and another waited about 20 minutes for food. Several finish with a small gift from the kitchen, a piece of baklava or kunafa on the house.

“Fitzrovian delight. Popped into Hibi Street food at 10 Tottenham St, Fitzrovia today on a friend's recommendation between art shows and so glad I did. Started with the Lentil Soup (£5) - very warming, tasty and delicious. Creamy, comforting, herby with a little chilli kick - perfect for a chilly London day. tbh that would have been enough but as that was so yummy and decided to have a mains: Shish Taouk & Hiba Salad (£16.25) - The Levantine Hiba salad is what really made it. So freshly dressed, you can tell they dress it to order. Crisp rocket, tomato, cucumber and parsley with lovely pink pickled onions, all in a bright, zingy Levantine dressing - lemony, olive oil, sumac - just perfectly balanced. And the chicken - tender and perfectly char-grilled, juicy marinated pieces with a beautiful golden char on the outside but still moist inside. Came with garlic and chilli sauces. So flavourful and generous. Finished with fresh mint tea served in a charming little green enamel teapot - such a lovely thoughtful touch. Lovely, friendly staff, really warm and welcoming atmosphere. You can tell they're doing very well - I noticed they're taking on a premises three times the size opposite. No surprise, it was very busy even on a weekday afternoon. Looks like they're dropping the 'Street Food' name and that's quite right - 'street food' doesn't really sum up how good the food was. This is just very good restaurant food at street food prices in the heart of the West End. Authentic Lebanese & Palestinian street food cooked fresh. Small, cosy, great value for central London near Goodge Street / Tottenham Court Road. Highly recommend - will definitely be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“From the interior design to the mouth watering menu, Hiba has done a great job creating a welcoming place to enjoy Middle Eastern food. The menu has a good selection of Lebanese and Palestinian dishes. I ordered the Hiba Mixed Shawarma Wrap with chips and fresh mango juice. The wrap was really tasty, the chips were good and the mango juice was fresh. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality and portion size. I’d definitely come back again next time I’m in the area.”

“I hardly say this for food places but Hiba is an excellent place for Falafel and just any kind of food . Wow we walked a mile to reach it but in the end it was 200% worth the walk. Sweet staff, very polite and accommodating and fresh food . One for the best falafels I had in recent times along with salad on the platter. High recommend it”

“I came across this restaurant by coincidence, and I’m glad I did. What first caught my attention was the Palestinian flag outside—it immediately made me want to give it a try. I ordered the chicken shawarma and hummus, and, in all honesty, I wasn’t expecting them to be this good. The shawarma was flavorful and juicy, and the hummus was fresh, creamy, and exactly how it should be. Middle Eastern food in Europe can be hit or miss, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Thankfully, this place exceeded my expectations and delivered flavors that genuinely reminded me of home. If you’re craving authentic Lebanese or Palestinian food, this is definitely a place worth visiting 🍉”
