Customer Review Summary

Reviewers come for a huge menu that runs from traditional to British, and the desserts and chai draw the most specific praise. The saffron milk cake is described as milky with a definite saffron taste, while others single out waffles, french toast and a soft Matilda cake. Chai gets repeated mentions, with one reviewer suggesting the saffron version. Among mains, diners name the soft, creamy butter chicken, nihari with naan, the mixed grill, and pulled beef and chicken paratha burgers, with masala fries and cheesy fries alongside. Staff are called friendly, and one server is praised for looking after a child's birthday table. The recurring complaint is price. Several call the menu pricey, and one felt the mixed platter should come with rice, salad or bread. Others found the samosas mild, the butter naan no different from plain, and the Nutella milk cake barely tasting of Nutella. One notes that weekend nights get incredibly busy and service slips. A couple of reviewers close by mentioning the prayer room and a space for wudu.

“Such a lovely experience at Chai & Chapati Kingsbury 💖 the food was sooo nice and full of flavour. I had the pina colada which was delicious, and we got two burgers, masala fries and cheesy fries which were all so yummy 😭 The restaurant is also really pretty inside and feels nice and spacious. But the best part for me was Ranjana 🤍 she was honestly so lovely, friendly and helpful the whole time. It was my little cousin’s birthday and she made us feel so welcome and looked after. She kept checking in on us, helped with any questions we had, and was so sweet throughout. She also handled a rude customer so calmly and professionally, which honestly made us appreciate her even more. Such a lovely girl and a real credit to the restaurant. Will definitely be back 🫶🏼”
