Customer Review Summary
Diners most often come for the pre-theatre or post-show set menu, which reviewers call well priced and handy for The Troubadour through the rear entrance. Grilled king prawns come up repeatedly, alongside the sea bass, fish and chips with spicy fries, and a Mediterranean stuffed aubergine. One reviewer also photographed a Chocolate Brownie Fudge Sundae. Staff are described as attentive, friendly and impeccable. Criticism is limited but specific. One reviewer found service a little slow for a pre-show meal. Another found the vegan options uninspiring, and a tarka dahl starter ordered as a main arrived as two small bowls instead of the single large dish it was meant to be. One diner notes there is no live music apart from special events. Several say they would return, and one recalls a server pacing the meal so a family reached their show with time to spare, and a doorman who ordered a cab so they could wait under the canopy in heavy rain and step straight in.

“Great pre/concert early dinner. A real diamond of a place. Good food, excellent service and great atmosphere. Shout out to Patric who served us today, attentive but not too much and always had a smile.”

“Enjoyed a lovely meal here before our trip to the theatre. Service was great, very attentive and it's a lovely, modern, spacious venue. Also incredibly handy for the theatre as it's literally 2 mins away, through the rear entrance. We'd go again.”

“We had a lovely meal after the Starlight Express show today. The post show set menu had great choice and was really reasonable and the food was delicious. The staff were lovely. Really couldn’t fault it. Thank you!”

“We visited for a pre-show dinner. The food was wonderful, good portion sizes, very flavoursome. The sea bass was amazing. The set menu was so reasonably priced. We enjoyed our meal immensely. Also to have access to the theatre through the back of the restaurant was amazing on a rainy day. A special mention must go to the doorman. A font of all local information, of the venue facilities, and surrounds. He was extremely helpful with ordering our Uber to ensure we could wait under the canopy at the front of the restaurant (it was heavy rain) and we were able to jump straight into our cab. Thank you so much for your help! You made our visit run so smoothly. We were and are extremely grateful for your help.”
