Quick info
About Bread & Oregano
Bread & Oregano is a breakfast restaurant and coffee shop at 90 George Ln in London, serving a Greek and fusion menu. Brunch includes the Thessaloniki love dish, which combines Greek bread with yoghurt, eggs, honey and pomegranate. Souvlaki wraps come in vegetarian and vegan versions, and the tzatziki arrives with pita bread. Traditional Greek pies are available directly from the bar, while bakery items are displayed at the front, and coffee drinks run alongside the food. A glass-covered wine cellar is built into the floor, giving diners a view of the bottles behind the wine served at dinner. Greek music plays during meals, and the restaurant is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the coffee, with the mocha and chai latte named as standouts and the coffee described as strong and fresh. Close behind is brunch: the Thessaloniki love with Greek bread, yoghurt, eggs, honey and pomegranate, alongside a med avo toast with plenty of avocado and two eggs, and smoked salmon with fresh hollandaise. Diners also mention traditional Greek pies from the bar, tzatziki with pita, souvlaki wraps (halloumi and vegan mushroom versions) and a granola and zingy orange juice. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, welcoming and fast, and the space is described as relaxed, bright and airy, with Greek music and a glass-covered wine cellar in the floor. Prices are called reasonable and portions generous. The only criticism is small: one reviewer found the feta in the Greek salad not the best, though still tasty. Several say the team makes them feel like they are visiting friends or family.

“This is my favourite local. The staff are all sweet, welcoming and efficient. It’s a really relaxing environment, which is refreshing from the buzz of London eateries. The coffees, cakes and the main meals are all delicious and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!”

“New to the area so wanted to try out local independent places- this place didn’t disappoint. Lovely spot for quick brunch, friendly staff and tasty food. I had the med avo toast; other places often skimp on the avocado or only serve one poached egg, but here the portion size was great with plenty of avocado and two perfectly cooked golden yolked eggs. Will definitely be back!”

“A place that me and my family love to dine at - the food is always delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. The place has a Greek vibe to it, and there is Greek music being played while you dine. It is probably the best restaurant in South Woodford, I would highly recommend it!”
