Customer Review Summary

Reviewers are split on the fried chicken, the center of the menu. Some praise the spicy coating and call the chicken really good, while others describe dry, overcooked peri peri strips that were hard to swallow, and wings left patchy with veins in them. One reviewer calls the chicken dry and the chips reheated, and another found a fish burger soggy with a dry fillet. The lamb wrap was called underwhelming. Fries with peri salt and a generous portion of chips earn credit, and a few point to reasonable pricing for central London and the quick service near the London Eye. Cleanliness draws complaints too: one reviewer found tables with leftover food remnants, and another noted missing table edging and 5-star stickers displayed beside a 4-star hygiene rating. Reviewers also mention rowdy customers kicking chairs and an owner on the phone while taking an order. Staff get mixed reports, but two reviewers recall an older man at the counter handing over extra chicken or wings near closing time.

“Very reasonably priced for central London. Decent portion. I'd recommend.”

“Made the huge mistake of ordering a fish burger here after a large night out. Even in my drunken state, the soggy bread bun, the lettuce that looked a week old, and the dry fish burger went straight into the bin. Avoid!”

“Chicken Palace in Westminster, near Marlin Waterloo Hotel, is honestly nothing to brag about. It is the kind of place that feels more like a convenient stop than somewhere you would go out of your way to visit. The prices are pretty standard, but unfortunately the overall experience did not do much to justify even that. The owner did not come across as very friendly and actually seemed annoyed that there was a customer, which immediately set the wrong tone. He was on the phone the whole time even during taking my order. That sort of attitude makes a big difference, especially in a casual food place where you expect at least a basic level of warmth and welcome. Instead of feeling inviting, the atmosphere felt a little off from the start. I tried the lamb wrap, and it really was not very good. The flavour was underwhelming, and it did not leave a positive impression. On top of that, the tables were not properly cleaned when I sat down, and there were still food remnants left behind from the previous customers. That made the place feel neglected and took away from any chance of enjoying the meal comfortably. Overall, this was not a memorable experience for the right reasons. The prices may be standard, but the service, cleanliness, and food quality were all disappointing. There are definitely better options nearby.”

“Awful food and slow service. Food tasted like it had been cooked in the morning and left to sit all day. Chicken was dry and chips were reheated. I didn't eat it, it went in the bin, waste of £6.50. Horrible tourist trap.”

“The service was quick as they were 30 minutes to close, I got what they had left, wings, pieces and a burger. The burger wasn’t bad but it was slightly dry, the fries were the best part, they were quite nice with the peri salt. Unfortunately the fried pieces and wings were WELL below average, the wings were very patchy most with veins left in, and the pieces were, indescribable. I appreciate the man’s kindness to give me extra wings as he was closing, but it just wasn’t a good experience :(”
