About Zuma London
Zuma London is a Japanese restaurant in London at 5 Raphael St, serving Modern Japanese food in an informal setting. A sushi counter anchors the room, and the robata grill works through skewers and other grilled selections. Lobster truffle rolls and miso roast baby chicken are among the dishes on the menu, and the sticky date pudding sweet potato parfait is one of the desserts. Seating extends beyond the main dining room into a zen courtyard, which gives the restaurant a second place to seat guests. Reservations are required. An optional service charge is added automatically to the bill.

What reviewers say
Reviewers most often mention dessert platter, calamari, sushi and robata grill.
Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the food's flavour and freshness, with the lobster truffle rolls named as a standout. Close behind are the sushi and robata grill, the beef, and the fish, which one diner calls incredibly fresh. Others single out the dessert platter, skewers, fried calamari, nigiri, and a miso roast baby chicken, and one reviewer calls a server's dessert recommendation the best they have had there. Service draws mixed accounts. Many call it warm and quick, while a few say it started out inattentive or unfriendly, and one found it good but not exceptional. One diner describes a waiter seeming surprised and slow to act when asked to remove the service charge, and says an automatically added charge creates awkwardness. Others say the portions are small for the price, and one found the sushi a bit tough. One reviewer says most tables looked like business dinners rather than birthdays. A party with no free table was seated in the courtyard, where staff kept checking on them.

“Absolutely fantastic! Every dish was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The sushi and robata grill selections were outstanding, and the service was impeccable throughout the evening. The atmosphere is lively yet elegant, making it perfect for both a special occasion and a great night out. Highly recommended, and I can't wait to return.”

“We had our best meal during our UK trip at Zuma London. They had no seats when we walked in at 6+ pm on a Friday evening. We asked if we could at their zen courtyard, which I believe is more for drinks. They accommodated and constantly checked that we were ok. The dishes were excellent. We had a mocktail, nigiri, maki roll, fried calamari, miso roast baby chicken and sticky date pudding sweet potato parfait.”

“The food was excellent and definitely the highlight of the experience. Service was good, but not exceptional. My only issue was with the service charge. When I asked for it to be removed, the waiter seemed surprised, asked why, and took a while to process the request. Since the service charge is optional, every customer has the right to decline it without feeling questioned or uncomfortable. I also believe that automatically adding a high service charge to the bill before asking the customer creates unnecessary pressure and awkwardness. Customers should feel free to choose whether or not to pay it. Overall, great food, but this part of the experience could be handled much better.”

“Came here with my family a few weeks back. Although the service wasn’t as attentive as usual towards the begining of our seating/meal, the food was 10/10 as always. I will post the reciept in case you want to try what we ordered. Alex (blonde lady) was amazing at helping us get the best orders & was very friendly. Her dessert recommendation was the best I’ve ever had in Zuma.”
