Quick info
About Faros Oxford Circus 🇮🇹
Faros Oxford Circus is an Italian restaurant in London at 22 Great Portland St. The kitchen builds its menu around pasta, with truffle pasta and rigatoni alla Siciliana among the dishes diners order by name. Drinks run beyond the usual list, since the kitchen also makes its own lemonade, and homemade peach iced tea sits alongside it as a non-alcoholic option for the table. The restaurant puts a fresh spin on Italian cooking rather than sticking strictly to the classics.

Customer Review Summary
Homemade tiramisu is the dessert diners return to most, praised by several as outstanding and, for one, the best they have had in London. Close behind are the pasta dishes: the truffle pasta, a beef pappardelle ragu, mushroom pappardelle, and a rigatoni alla Siciliana with a generous amount of tender, slow-cooked lamb. Others single out the linguine allo scoglio, the fresh seabass, and prawns with asparagus and artichoke. Homemade lemonade and peach iced tea are called refreshing. Staff draw steady warmth, with servers recommending dishes, a waiter guiding a Muslim guest through which items contained wine or pork, and a manager checking in at tables. The one criticism is small: a diner found a very creamy, cheese-heavy dish tasty but a bit much. Several note the indoor tables fill up and suggest booking in advance, while walk-ins were seated outside under overhead heaters and stayed comfortable. Celebrations get attention, from complimentary prosecco for an anniversary to a birthday song, and one table was offered a limoncello on the house to end the meal.

“Food was beautiful and fresh Service was sharp. Andreea was attentive and friendly. It was my birthday and the staff were "told" by my husband and made me feel exceptionally special with a treat and a song.”

“We reserved a table at Faros for a pre-theatre supper, and the whole experience, from arrival to departure, was exceptionally well managed. The décor was stylish and the ambience lively without being intrusive. Front-of-house training clearly receives considerable attention. A trainee was accompanied and supported by Ritik, our waiter, as she took our order. The trainee inadvertently spilt some water on the table, but immediately apologised and dealt with it efficiently. The maître d’, who had noticed what had happened from a distance, also came over to apologise and check that we had not been inconvenienced. We were particularly impressed by both the courtesy shown to us and the supportive way in which the trainee was treated. The food and drinks menus offered a good selection of traditional favourites alongside some less familiar dishes, with plenty of choice for everyone in our family. The cocktails were excellently prepared, both in taste and presentation, and together with the wine and soft drinks set the tone very nicely for the evening. Our main courses, desserts and coffees maintained the same high standard, with excellent flavours and smart but unfussy presentation. The Truffle Pasta and Rigatoni alla Siciliana were the standout dishes, the latter containing a generous amount of beautifully tender, slow-cooked lamb. Dining at Faros was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Prices are slightly higher than some restaurants, but we felt they were fully justified by the quality of the food, service and overall experience.”

“We had a fantastic time! Ozzy treated us like royalty and was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. The food was absolutely to die for—we all ordered the mushroom pappardelle and loved every bite. Since we were starving after travelling from Liverpool, Chef Api kindly sent over some olives to tide us over, which was such a thoughtful touch. Huge congratulations and compliments to Chef Api! Thank you so much for an amazing experience. We’ll definitely be back and will be recommending you to all our friends and family.”

“What an incredible dining experience! The food was absolutely amazing. I had the Pollo alla Milanese followed by the homemade tiramisu, and both were outstanding. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. What truly made our visit unforgettable, though, was our waitress, Andreea. She was one of the kindest, warmest, and most attentive waitresses I’ve had the pleasure of being served by. Nothing was too much trouble, she was incredibly accommodating, and she regularly checked in to make sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. Her genuine care and exceptional service made us feel so welcome. A huge thank you to everyone involved, from the talented chefs and hardworking kitchen staff to Andreea and the rest of the front of house team. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. We’ll definitely be back!”

“A very organized and popular restaurant. I highly recommend booking in advance as it was full when I arrived and I was lucky to find a table. The food was delicious and the drinks were perfectly balanced. As a Muslim traveler, I was concerned about the ingredients, but the waiter, Ritik, was incredibly helpful. He guided me through the menu, pointing out dishes that contained alcohol (wine) or pork, which I truly appreciated. Since the indoor area was fully booked, I sat in the outdoor seating area. It was very comfortable because of the overhead heaters—I didn't feel the cold at all, and the food stayed warm. The dish I ordered was very creamy and rich in cheese; while it was tasty, it was a bit much for me as I’m not a huge fan of cheese. I will definitely visit again to try different dishes. Highly recommended!"”
