About Gelatone

Gelatone is an ice cream shop at 23 Rose St in Covent Garden, London, set down a quiet alley off the high street. The team makes its Italian gelato fresh on the spot, and the cones are made fresh as well. The flavour list runs from pistachio and gianduja to tiramisu. Gelatone also supplies gelato to restaurants and hospitality venues, so its work reaches beyond the shop counter and into other kitchens and dining rooms. The shop is open daily.

“I went late on Friday night after a show and we were so lucky as even though they were closing they were kind enough to serve us. I was recommended the mango and the lemon and both were excellent. The lemon was just perfect, the right amount of sweet and tart. Will be back next Friday :-)”

“Good place for an ice cream on a Covent Garden walk, but nothing special. The michelin star fame was actually for a prize they won on a flavor that is no longer served, which is a bit disappointing.”

“Best gelato I’ve ever had! Friendly staff! Highly recommend. 👍👍”

“Tiny little portion, the flavour tasting very average Service not excellent just average. Nothing special, not much choice, just paying for the branding and ads. It’s not worth travelling here just for a very ordinary gelato.”

“A Michelin starred gelato place hidden down a quiet alley in Covent Garden. You have to look for Gelatone because you are unlikely to come across it just by walking past. The gelato is exceptional. It tastes fresh, rich and genuinely homemade, with intense flavours and a beautifully smooth texture. The cones are made fresh, wonderfully crisp and have the perfect crunch. A proper hidden gem and easily some of the best gelato in London.”

Customer Review Summary

The criticism is sharper but less frequent. One reviewer calls the portion tiny, the flavour average and the service ordinary, saying they were paying for branding. Another says the Michelin star fame came from a prize for a flavour that is no longer served, which they found disappointing.
