About Pauls Plaice
Pauls Plaice is a fish and chips shop in London, at 11 Norbreck Parade. The menu runs to 37 dishes, with Plaice and Cod alongside a Large Cod, a fillet about the size of two regular ones for anyone after a bigger portion of fish. The fish comes in a thin batter and is made to order, so the kitchen asks customers to be patient. Chips are thick, UK-style, and served in generous portions. A kebab also appears on the menu.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the cod, especially the large cod, which one describes as a huge piece, like two regular fillets, and another calls tender and juicy under a light, thin batter. Close behind are the crispy golden batter that diners say is not greasy or oily, and the chips, described as thick, UK style and fluffy inside. Generous portions come up repeatedly, and the food is called fresh and served hot. Staff are consistently described as friendly and welcoming, one reviewer notes the new owners putting in visible effort, and a long-time customer says the kebab is always well filled. One reviewer suggests being patient because the food is made to order. Several returning customers say the quality matches what they remember from years or even decades ago, including one who came back after more than a decade and found the large cod just as good.

“Really impressed with Paul’s Fish Place and definitely worthy of a 5-star review! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The food was absolutely spot on. The fish was fresh, beautifully cooked and had a lovely light, crispy batter without being overly greasy. The chips were just as good — hot, fresh, fluffy on the inside and a really generous portion. Everything tasted like it had been cooked with care rather than just rushed out. The service was excellent as well. Everyone was friendly, polite and welcoming, and the whole experience from ordering to getting the food was easy and pleasant. It’s always nice to find a local fish and chip place where you get great food, good portions and genuinely friendly service. You can tell they take pride in what they serve, and the quality really comes through. I’ll definitely be coming back to Paul’s Fish Place again and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for proper, tasty fish and chips. Keep up the great work!”
