Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the fish and chips, singling out fresh cod and haddock in a light, crispy batter with thick chips and generous portions. Close behind are the sides: homemade onion rings, mushy peas and roasted veggies, which several call surprisingly good. The gluten free cod and chips draws strong praise, with one diner with coeliac disease describing it as safe and delicious. Servers are repeatedly called friendly, helpful and efficient, and one explained the menu to a gluten free table. The main drawbacks are the space and the crowd. It is a small place with a lineup, so some describe it as cramped, a little too warm inside, and slightly rushed when busy. One reservation holder was glad to have booked, and another arrived before dinner to avoid the wait. Not every dish landed: one reviewer found the fish cake overdone with a burned taste, and another preferred pub fish and chips. Several mention the higher price, though one finds the freshness justifies it, and a reviewer notes the fish reportedly comes from the fish market.

“not too bad to be honest. I had my fish and chips at Hobson's not knowing it was a chain but at least it didn't come out too and I didn't come out as soggy at all which I've had in the carnaby fish bar. but I'm so mad at but I've had it and it was how crispy it wasn't too big and I would say yeah it was. it was fine. it was hot crunchy and quite typical like I kind of realise. I prefer it at the at the pubs. it's kind of what I'm looking for. it's better that way doesn't need to be a fish and chip shop. maybe I'm just not a fan of how they make it. I'm more of a fan of how a pup makes it cheers”

“Excellent fish and chips with fresh, crispy cod and perfectly cooked chips. The portions were generous, and everything tasted delicious. A special thank you to Deen for the friendly service. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!”

“Very traditional fish and chips place and Deen provides a great service. COD and Haddock are good choices for the traditional deep fried option; roasted veggies and mushy peas are surprisingly good as side dishes. We came a bit before dinner to avoid the wait.”

“We were lucky to get a table, as it’s a small place and I imagine it gets quite busy. I ordered the fish & chips, and it was absolutely delicious. The fish apparently comes fresh from the fish market, and you can really taste the quality. It’s on the pricier side, but worth it for the freshness and authentic vibe. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the service was fast. Recommended 🙂”

“The food was very well served, very fresh and we'll seasoned. Deen, our waiter was very polite and nice with us. It was my first time in London and I am very pleased with the food and the service. The local was very clean. The only not so good point was that it was a little bit too warm inside”
