Quick info
About Kave
Kave is a specialty coffee shop at 2 Hammersmith Broadway in London, close to Hammersmith Station, serving breakfast with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices. The drinks list centres on coffee, with a matcha latte made with oat milk as the dairy-free pick. On the food side, a cheese and tomato toastie covers savoury breakfast, and the pastry selection includes croissants that the team will warm on request. Smoothies, smoothie bowls and juices sit alongside the hot drinks for those who skip coffee. The cafe is spacious, with a downstairs seating area for extra room. It opens early, including on Saturdays, and it gets busy enough that a wait is sometimes part of the visit.

Customer Review Summary
Coffee is the most frequent draw, with reviewers praising a smooth cappuccino that is not a punchy blend, a matcha latte with oat milk, and a latte paired with a cinnamon bun described as out of this world. Breakfast comes close behind, led by a cheese and tomato toastie, a caramelized onion cheese toast and a blueberry, banana and flaxseed smoothie bowl, with vegan and vegetarian choices also noted. Reviewers call the space cosy, spacious and welcoming, with friendly staff and baristas, though the stairs to the downstairs area are described as steep. Pastries draw the most criticism. One reviewer found them stiff, another thought a pain au chocolat too greasy, and a third felt the fillings in a ham and cheese croissant could have been better quality. One reviewer called the coffee only ok and the service a bit off, and another says it gets busy enough that customers sometimes wait. Even so, one reviewer singles out that the croissants are warmed.

“Great little place for a quick breakfast and beverage. Very unique inside and lovely food. It gets pretty busy so you sometimes have to wait, but that's only because the food is so good.”

“Good morning word of Google Maps here. We are with another fantastic review from your local guide expert today. We're reviewing a place that is called Kave and this place looked quite good from the outside. Even inside. That's got a decent Vibe. But in reality when you get in, the food is really no great, especially the pastries. We haven't really tried anything else, but the pastries are a bit stiff. I think this one is from a couple of days ago and I need to say the coffee is actually good but the service and the way in which you get served is a bit off. I thought I was going to find a great great great great great great great Vibe but actually it was just barely fine.”

“Had a very nice matcha latte with oat milk here, and a breakfast ham and cheese croissant that was pretty good (fillings could have been better quality, but the croissant was fresh). Nice atmosphere, spacious.”
