About xi home
Xi Home is a Chinese restaurant in London, run as a stall at Bang Bang Oriental at 399 Edgware Rd. The menu centres on handmade pan-fried dumplings, with seafood fillings of lobster, scallop and squid alongside prawn and egg and chive. A "Selection 1" dumpling set groups several of them in one order. Hand-pulled noodles fill out the rest of the menu, including a pork biang biang noodle dish, and roujiamo is listed too. The stall is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Dumplings are the main draw at this Bang Bang Oriental stall, with reviewers praising the handmade, fresh dumplings, the lobster dumpling in particular, which one diner describes as packed with succulent lobster meat. The pan fried dumplings and the sea bass also earn praise, and the pork biang biang noodles are called delicious, while the roujiamo is described as tasty and succulent. Reviewers are split on the rest. The scallop dumplings and spring onion pancake are called a bit average, and one finds the dumpling dough closer to Polish than Asian dumplings. Portions and value draw repeated complaints: the biang biang noodles are called small, the braised beef with hand-pulled noodles came with very fatty beef and soft noodles, and one diner found a prawn, egg and chive dumpling filling bland, with barely any prawn. One reviewer says the roujiamo took forever on a quiet weekday lunch. Another reports a female staff member yelling at them about arriving late, shortly before closing. Others describe the staff as friendly and helpful, and one reports takeaway wontons stuck together in the box.

“I bought some takeaway wontons from this store. Takeaway no discount. I even paid extra for the takeaway box. The assistant should have sprinkled flour on te box to stop the wontons sticking. When I opened the box afterwards all the wontons were stuck to the box and impossible to retrieve without breaking up. Surely they must have know this. Very poor service.”

“The braised beef with hand-pulled noodles was flavourful, though for the price, the portion wasn’t the most generous. Furthermore, the beef was incredibly fatty with very little lean meat to actually eat, and the noodles were a bit soft to my liking. The roujiamo was quite tasty and succulent. However, it took forever to be prepared despite the fact that the stall was not busy during lunch on a weekday. Not my first choice amongst the stalls at Bang Bang.”

“We had the pork biang biang noodles and it was delicious. Portion size a little small compared to other biang biang noodles places we have tried. No service charge.”
