About Jun Tai
Jun Tai is an evening-only Chinese takeaway at 4 Lewisham Rd in London. Its menu centres on box meals, among them a crispy seaweed, bbq duck and egg fried rice box, so an evening order can come as a single boxed meal. For noodles there is a house special chow mein, and a set meal for one combines chicken balls, chop suey and egg fried rice. The shop is closed on Tuesdays.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the box meals and big portions, with the chicken balls, house special chow mein and chicken with broccoli named as highlights. Several call the food non oily and freshly cooked, and a few say the value beats other local takeaways. One reviewer describes a set meal of chicken balls, chop suey and egg fried rice as large enough to feed three, with crispy, generously filled chicken balls, though the chop suey tasted bland and very sweet. Others mention crispy seaweed, bbq duck and spicy chowmein as good, and one asked for less salt and oil and was happy with the result. The complaints are specific. One longtime customer says a box meal arrived about three quarters full with much missing after a change in staff, and went back for a refund. Another counted five tiny pieces in a sweet and sour order. One found the prawn toast tasted of old oil, and the sweetcorn soup was called boring. Service is described as friendly, with one phone order ready in ten minutes.

“Wanted something nearby and speedy as I had a friend over for dinner and was not disappointed. Proper Chinese takeaway with great quality food. We called up and ordered, service was lovely and it was ready in 10 mins. Prices are also great for London, portions are big too! Definitely recommend”

“Had crispy seaweed, bbq duck and egg fried rice box meal, hose special chow mein and prawn toast. All was delicious (other than the prawn toast - tasted like old oil). Cost £25.10 - current menu from December 2025 attached”

“I dropped by here after arriving at my hotel (one night, for work) and wanted something small, light and Chinese. I came here because I read a review that said that the food wasn't greasy (as can be quite prevalent in take aways) and ordered chicken with broccoli and chicken & sweetcorn soup. The chicken and broccoli was really nice! Absolutely not greasy, with everything freshly cooked! Nice work! The soup - a bit boring really but then, it wasn't bad just... chicken and sweetcorn soup. Try this place though - totally worth it! Oh and my bill? £9.90.”
