Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the special fried rice, praised for its wok hei and described by one takeaway customer as "bang on the spot", with another saying they might return just for the rice. Close behind are the crispy duck, called the star of one meal, the won ton soup, the egg fried rice and the Jasmine Tea. Diners also describe fresh, not greasy food, quick service and friendly staff, and one calls the inside nicer than the tired facade suggests. The complaints are specific. One takeaway reviewer found the chow mein without salt and the vegetables under-seasoned. Another noticed a strong smell in the sweet and sour sauce, found the chicken too oily and had a partner's order mixed up. Others call the spare ribs meh, mention a communication issue with one waiter, and say prices run higher than Chinatown. One group added extra dishes after their first order and everything arrived as ordered.

“I ordered a takeaway today, and unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The chow mein had no salt and tasted completely bland. Even the vegetables lacked flavor and seemed under-seasoned. Overall, the meal was quite tasteless and did not meet expectations.”

“This is hands down my favourite restaurant. I almost don’t want people to find out about it! The food is always delicious—it has been since I first started coming here in 2018/19, and it never disappoints. I don’t have time to go there anymore but I will order a take away anytime I can. ❤️”

“Nicer looking place inside the restaurant than the tired facade would have you believe. Service was really prompt. We tried several dishes. Spare ribs were a bit meh but the won ton soup was excellent. Star of the show was the crispy duck dish. A very solid and reasonably priced Chinese meal.”

“Overall, it was great in terms of the timing that dishes coming and freshness of those. Also the tastes were not compromised at all. The service was great - though I was a bit worried that the server didn’t take a note as we ordered 4 main dishes and 3 different rices and chaw mien - noodle. However it came as ordered. We arrived very late around 8pm there were few tables with us - atmosphere was cozy and like a Chinese restaurant that loved by its neighbors. We completed the first order and added few more as we were not full and it came with a very plenty amount of foods that comes. Amazing services 4.8/5.0”

“My first experience buying a proper Chinese takeaway meal here in the UK. As a person who often cooks Chinese meals at home, let me say this: this £7,5 special fried rice is BANG ON THE SPOT. The wok hei, the meat, the spices - just an explosion in your mouth. The service was exceptionally quick - I just waited for about 3 minutes on a wee couch inside, and got what I ordered. Massive cheers to Sun Ya!”
